I have a bike rack that I really love and would like to be able to use it for my 2002 Boxster. I need to get a hitch put on, but am hoping that it won't require body work to do that. U-Haul doesn't have anything that will work, nor does the Porsche service dept. .... anybody had any luck with that?

Please let me know soon! bbchi1@sbcglobal.net

I bought the bike rack last year from Willwood Systems. It works great and is easy to install. I was hesitant to send a check to "Will" (he has only one name) in California, but he came through as he promised and shipped right away. I think your only options are his, the factory rooftop system (over $1000) and a few really badly designed rear mount models.

Just wondering if anyone has experience towing a small trailer with this Hitch.

Will on his Hitch site says 750lbs may be ok.

Have a Jet Boat, be nice to tow, probably too much at 1400lbs though?

Any experience appreciated.

I use the Willwood hitch to tow my tire trailer. (~500lbs loaded.) It works great.

When I searched for a tow hitch on the U-Haul website, they said that they do not have a hitch available for a 986, but would want to fabricate a custom one for free. I'm assuming they would design and start to manufacture one for the 986 to offer it on the market. The only catch is that you would have to leave the car at their site for 2-3 days in Tempe, AZ while the design and build one. Anyone in the Tempe area that is willing to do this? The following is the message I received from U-Haul...
