Intrument Cluster digital readout display went dark

My 99's instrument cluster clock backlighting too a dump today. Does anyone know how to replace it? I can see the clock in direct sunlight faintly, so I know it still works but there's no backlighting :( I'd rather not replace the entire cluster.

thanks,

christopher

This happens to my instrument cluster every now and again. I usually just "rap" on it pretty hard and it comes back on. Once, I slid my hand under the dash (after removing the air conditioner tube - which just slides out) and gently prodded the wires back there. Something "reconnected" and it worked again. Come to think of it, it hasn't gone off since then. *knock on wood*

I would try the brute force fix before I started buying new bulbs ;)
