PCM2 no phone/ no sound

Recommended Posts

:help: Hi, i bought a 2004 996 C4S cab with PCM2 and it has no sound. The display states "system error: phone, amplifier not available" any ideas anyone???? Everything is plugged in correctly as far as i can see, Baffled!!! The display/radio/cd etc all seen to work fine. There is only the top and bottom connectors plugged into the back of the unit and i cannot find a middle one in the loom anyway, so i presume it has no internal amp- is that correct?? Any help or similar faults would be greatly appreciated.

Your car should still be under Porsche warranty.

Take it back to the dealer and have investigate TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) 15/03 9110 PCM2 With Bose Sound System: Sporadic Sound Failure -- dated 11-24-03.

I tried that but my vehicle is may 2004 and just out of warranty. To renew it they want £725 and to do a 111 point check! Therefore i would have to pay for it regardless! :(

But if you just bought the car - why do they not have an obligation to check it out for you. It could be that someone simple like removed something (like the phone) from the MOST fiber optic circuit and didn't re-program the car.

Sorry, this does not sound right to me - a good dealer would be happy to check it out for you with the hope of winning your future business (both service and sales).
