Does anyone know if there is a drain plug adapter for the Interstate brand battery?

Well the battery needs to have a vent connection that can have a tube attached to it - and sorry I do not know about the Interstate battery. The Autozone Duralast that Tool Pants and I use comes with a battery side connector, tubing and an adapter so I would think other good battery makers would do the same. Se my post (and others) here.

I guess it would depend on which interstate battery you have. Does your battery have a provision for a vent tube?

Yes, it does.

I am concerned because I previously had a vented Interstate battery, but the vent tube was not attached. When I recently replaced the Interstate battery (with another Interstate battery) there was corrosion in the battery tray, but not on the terminals. There appeared to be some water dripping out of the tube coming out of the battery, I thought maybe this is what was causing the corrosion. I cleaned the battery tray and installed a battery mat in the tray.

The shape of the vent tube connector is different for the Interstate battery from the original Porsche battery, so the tube connector will not attach to the Interstate battery.

Not following this.

The Interstate batteries I have seen in Boxsters came with a vent tube adapter that looks like this, so you can connect to the clear plastic tubing in the car. If you do not have this part and you have a vent tube in the middle rear of the battery then go back where you got the battery and get one.

Sorry I have not been clear. But you have answered my question. You are correct I have the Interstate battery with the vent tube in the middle rear of the battery and do not have an adapter. I will see about getting the vent tube adapter. Thanks.

That was easy. The black rubber tube and black plastic adapter should have been in a plastic bag stuck to the battery, but sometimes the bag gets lost.

This is an Interstate. You can see the black tube to the left of the red plastic terminal cap. You can't really see the black plastic adapter because the cable is in the way, but it you follow the black tube you can see it is connected to the clear plastic tube in the car.

What can happen if this tube isnt connected to the battery...I noticed that hose sitting around my battery and didnt know what it went to.
The acid fumes from the battery charging will go into your trunk and around the battery eventually causing corrosion.

I bought a LinkState battery few months ago and it didn't came with the vent tube, I called the LinkState office and they claimed that all their distributor should able to order a vent tube for free as long as you can proof your purchase. So I called my shop that sold me the battery and they order me back two vent tube. So if you need any extra one, just called your shop and place the order on behalf of you, they are free item from LinkState
