Just brought a used Boxster and first thing I did was order the 2003 clear rear lights and side repeaters. Then found out that you need to replace the entire headlight to get them clear (or buy 996 lights, ideally 2nd hand if you can find them). With price ranges of £500 plus for new I thought maybe there is a way to get the current amber section of the headlights clear? I mean I can not be the first person to think of this one. Question is has any one succeeded in doing it? Maybe using some frosted film or something similar. I know will still need the clear side inserts but these only cost £20 and not £500!! Any ideas out there? Cheers!! :clapping:

You are not the first one. The plastic itself is amber. I took it apart!. No way to remove the amber color.

I bought used 996 head lights. You can buy 2003/04 Boxster new headlights but they cost a lot. Jeff

actually, if you search the japanese import boards they tell you how you can dye the glass and remove the amber out of them. I didn't do it and ended up opting for the litronics but I've seen it done before and it's pretty darn amazing.
