clutch pedal stiff (unboosted) after short period of engine off.

assist always comes right up immediately after engine startup

earlier replacement of pressure accumulator (reservoir) solved problem....for a while

I am now faced with having to replace the clutch pedal booster pressure accumulator/reservoir the second time.

Does anyone have access to a DIY procedure for this along with recommendations for checking the pressure pump side to confirm this is a reservoir problem and not a pump over pressure problem.

thx

My tt does the same thing, but it is supposed to be a normal condition: engine on: assistance on, engine off, you have enough vacuum for one or two clutch strokes, after this, no more boost. When my car has been in the garage for 1 week, I do not get any power clutch assist until the engine runs. This all sounds normal to me.

Good luck anyway

There is a small ball on the clutch slave cyl.that holds pressure. I replaced mine a year ago and it's fine no matter how long the car sits. It cost $165.00..
