Litronic aim adjustment.

Hi Folks,

I am sorry to bother you with another Litronic discussion as I already did browse quite a few on the forum, but unfortunately I could not find any answers. I have a 996 C4 Cab from 10/02 with Litronic fitted on it. The aim is very low right now and I hardly can drive at night so far.

I read on the forum that you can adjust the sensor manually to level the lights to a higher position. But I could not find any thread relating to where is the Litronic sensor located.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and also save me a few bucks for a beer :cheers: .

Is your car a MY01 or MY02?

MY01 would have Litronic and MY02 (and newer) would have Bi-Xenon.

I think most RoW cars had a level adjustment knob just to left of the light switch. If there is not enough adjustment there then you should follow the headlight adjustment procedure in your owners manual.

Unfortunately not as the light will automatically level using a sensor. The owner's manual only relates to standard lights I believe and not to the Bi-Xenon one. I saw on some threads that there is a sensor located somewhere that you can slightly adjust to aim the lights. I just cannot figure out where it is.

There is an angle sensor located at the suspension on each wheel. They are not adjustable and if one is replaced the system must be re-calibrated with a PST2 (or PIWIS tester). Then the headlights must be adjusted in the normal way. The same goes for the control module for the automatic headlight adjustment.

So I guess next Friday for the 20,000 miles servicing I will ask Porsche to adjust the headlights.
