I got hit in the right front. 97 tiptronic with 70000 miles no problems till now. Right radiator replaced as well as front valance and frt fender and headlight. Drove it home 15 miles all seemed OK. Next time I drive water puked out below rt side of engine. Presume engine overheat. Never saw temp gage go over 195. Next I get a sound like a hydraulic lifter gone bad and I get some new codes on my OBDII, 1316, 1317,1318, VO808 and 2301. Engine temp on gage not over 190 but on OBDII is 211. Suspect bad thermostat but what about the tappet/lifter type noise? Oil change is also due. Just about 15000 since last change of Mobil 1.

I am in Ohio and I have a reasonable working knowledge of the Boxster but am better on 356's. Up to now in 5 years all I had to do to the Boxster was change oil!

It's more likely the cooling system was not bled properly. Dealers have special equipment to aid this process that repair shops do not have. When I had a radiator replaced, I had to get insist the body shop take my car to the dealer to get the proper coolant added and the system bled correctly.

Good Luck,

Graeme
