After 40 years of lust, I have finally ordered a C2S six speed. The dealer called me today and said that the sport shifter is no longer available. Has this become a dealer installed part? It made such a difference in the cars I test drove that it seems inconceivable that they would just discontinue it.

Thanks

I recently drove two six speed cars back to back, one with and one without and honestly found very little difference between the two. I actually had the sport shift already ordered and would have been able to still get it but when I found the new twin turbo forged rims were available I changed my order and lost the shifter (once a change was made the computer deletes the pre ordered sport shift) but got the rims. Yes the dealer can install the part if you wish.

I have not looked at the 2007 order guides, but Cayman/987 people are also saying the sport shifter is off their order guides this year and would be a dealer installed part.

Strange.
