Perplexing 02 electrical problem

Recommended Posts

Any thought on this appreciated.

I see no blown fuses on the main panel (driver footwell) but last night I limped home (in the dark) with no headlights or fog lights.

Running lights work fine as do turn & brake.

Also.............no AC......no 'star' indicator on dash when AC engaged........no circulation fan for AC or air........and the display for fan speed does some 'interesting' things.

It may be just my imagination but the ignition switch seems to have a different 'feel' when turning or releasing key......trying to remember yrs ago when I had an ignition switch issue on the Box.

Anyway.........any thoughts or ideas much appreciated..........thanks guys.

If it were just the lights I would say light switch - but the other items make me think it is the ignition switch.

Yep..........now I'm seeing the thread http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=493

.........and at least one of the people there reported some of my symptoms....so probably a fair bet.....interesting how many things that switch can affect (in strange ways).

I have to re-read that thread ........will see if I can locate a 4A0 905 849 B* from an Audi dealer.
