HI,

I just bought a MY99 C4 with 67000 about 3 months ago. Now my coolant is leaking... looks like it's coming from the water pump. Is there a DIY for it? What else needs to be changed (if I bring it to the dealer)? Thermostat? Thanks

more questions

In DIY section I was looking for the spark plug socket on snap-on website can seem to find it. Did they changed the part number?(i found the extension)

My coolant reservoir has a can clamp to it. What is that?

Thank you very much for your help and time

You need to have someone pressure test your cooling system and verify where the leak is coming from. It could be as simple as a leaking coolant tank cap, or a cracked tanked (unfortunately very common), or a leaking hose clamp, or the water pump.

Most likely your fuel filter.

Normally it is the coolant resivor that leak on this model. Coolant resivor can be changed in a DYI for around $250, If it is the water pump that is a bit more difficult but not impossible to DIY. If Lucky it might be a hose.

One end of the fuel filter has a special compression fitting. The other end the hose is permanently attached and has a similar connection point further down the hose. When you replace the fuel filter it comes with a new short hose on it.
