Just finish putting in the new engine, a 2003 Variocam Plus on a 2000S. Since there is no fuel return on the 03 fuel system, I had to exchange fuelrails, keeping the 03 injectors. I am aware that I have to get a new DME - 7.8, but the shop manual also mentions that oxygen sensors and MAF were upgraded in 03. Can someone confirm this info ? and has anybody successfully swap engines? What is the part # for the MAF?

Is the DME, O2 sensors and MAF everything I need? Thanks, Edwin.

The display on post 2003 cars are different from the pre 03 ones. It's kinda like a dot matrix display. Also, the wiring is different so I guess you would pretty much need to swap out the current wiring harness and display if you were to use a new DME. Post 03 cars were using the tidier Controller Area Network (CAN) wiring.

Hope I'm not talking rubbish

I am aware of the CAN bus on the 03 cars, but isn't the CAN bus just for the accesories such as A/C, navigation system, etc? or is it an interface for something else like gauges. I failed to mention this is a full time track car.
