Remote Stopped Working

My remote all of a sudden stopped working. I replaced the battery, but still the same. When I hit the arm/disarm button I can see the front led on the dash light up, but my doors don't lock/unlock. I can lock the car manually and the alarm activates. I have a 97 boxster.

Anybody have a clue as to what it could be? TIA

Same thing happened to my 99 Boxster this past spring. I went through the same steps as you and finally called the dealer. They replaced the remote head and reused the key. Paid over $100 and needed to leave the car with the dealer. If you have the original key tags, things go quicker at the dealer. Good luck
