Hello everyone,

Got an accident. Pretty much almost complete front need to be fix. Wondering about convert my 2000 Boxster S to 2002 996 looks. Is it hard to do? I remember seening some pictures about this project and could not find the link anymore. Body shop's manager is telling me it is not plug and play. Require additional cutting, drilling...etc. It means expensive work and suggesting forget the ideal.

My question is: How difficult to change the front end to 2002 front end's look?

Your other opinions and ideals are always welcome. Thank You.

I'd have to think the body shop manager just doesn't know much about the car or doesn't want to be bothered with it, I'm under the impression that from the bumper to the door sills the 986 and 996 are almost identical, sharing the majority of the parts, when I had my car apart nearly every part number started with 996

it's probably as simple as changing a few brackets out, compared to everything else it would be a simple task

There was an article April last year in 911 and Porsche World about some guys who fitted a Mk2 GT3 front end to a Boxster. If you can get hold of a copy it shows some great pictures of the build. The finished result was superb.
