After buying my 40th B'Day gift, a '04 C4S Cab, couple of months ago, not having the luxury of selecting options, I had found the perfect car, except, no NAV!! ..

As a second gift for my B'Day ( ) .. I bought the Pioneer AVIC Z-1 Navigation, without doing my homework properly.

Now trying to find an installer ... I am quoted $2,500 installation on top of the $1,800 I already spent.

The optical bus being the reason for the bad news.

Anyway to find a converter or an AUX input? Is it true even the speakers are on the bus?

The installation price seems to include amp, speakers, etc. Basically the whole Audio package.

Any help woudl be appreciated (otherwise anybody wants to buy the AVIC-Z1 !!?! ;) )

I am new and this is my first post, quite an impressive array of information. Thanks for being here.

Michael.

BTW: The car has the Bose speakers package.

Michael,

Unfortunatly you may be out of luck. The AVIC-Z1 has an optical out connection but it is not likely to work with the MOST Bus System. You should contact Pioneer directly through their website. They are normally responsive to questions. They may have a solution.

MIVEY.
