I'm going to go with new wheels and tires on my 2000 996. Sticking with 18" wheels but going to 8.5" wheels in the front and staying with 10" wheels in the rear. 225/40 and 285/30 for tires. I really want to fill out the wheel wells a bit more. I am going to trash the stock suspension in the fall so I will be lowering the car about an inch. What spacers can I go with that won't rub when the car gets lowered but will give the car a moderately more aggressive stance? The wheels I am looking at right now are 52MM-F, 58MM-R offset.

The "Summer Tires" TSB shows the standard wheel offsets and maximum spacer sizes. I would look at that, and get to work with your calculator!

My little brain is hurting. Since the new wheels are going to be 10" wide with a 58mm offset and my OE wheels are 10" with a 65mm offset, I don't need spacers on the rear with the new wheels - essentially, I am looking at the same stance on the rear if I kept my OE wheels and put on 7mm spacers. Right?!??!?!? :eek:
