Someone offered to trade my 18 inch turbos for a set of 17 inch Cup IIs in very good shape. Question is, will they fit a boxster? I've been checking pictures and haven't seen a Boxster with them installed. Thanks.

Do you know the offsets of the Cup II's? If they are off a 911, it's unlikely they will fit, but if you can get the offset it will help figure it out.

Owner says they are from his 993. Problem is they are being shipped in from out of town, and I'm to send mine back on the same truck. I don't have the possibility to try them. Maybe I'll put a hold this trade as I don`t want to get stuck with wheels I can't use. Thanks, I was thinking brake clearances and didn't even think about offsets, as it's a Porsche rim. It's also because I have a set of 16 inch Cup I, and they fit fine.

From what I can find out, the Cup II's have the following dimensions:

Front - 17x7 et 55

Rear - 17x9 et 55

Compare this to stock Boxster 17" wheels:

Front - 17x7 et 55

Rear - 17x8.5 et 50 (or 48 depending on the wheel)

Based on these numbers, the inside edge of the Cup II's will be 1/2" closer to the strut than stock wheels. In my experience, this will not cause fitment issues. Even if it does, any problems can easily be fixed with a small (5mm) spacer.

Good Luck,

Graeme

Yep, that's them alright. That's the first I've seen so far on a Boxster. Looks good, and a nice ride by the way. I think I can see my red brakes a little better with the Cup I though :) Let's see if those Cup IIs finally get here, and I can get a closer look. Thanks for answering and I bet you have some fun out on those open highways!
