I bought some new headlights for my Porsche Cayenne turbo 2003, because the old ones were really yellow and scratched up. the headlight I bought is called Headlights set daylight LED TFL look Porsche Cayenne 03-07 black. Free shipping for many products! the instructions that came with the light told me to remove the old motor in the old headlights and put them in the new ones. but what i noticed is that the wiring on the old one has 5 pins and the new one only has 3 pins/wires Another thing is on the back side of the old headlight there are 12 pins I think where you plug them into the car. But on the new one, 2 pins are missing. And when I put everything back together the only thing that will turn on is the low beam. the new headlight included light bulbs for the low beam but not for the high beam so I also had to buy new ones for that because the lightbulbs in the old one didn't fit in the new headlight. and the turn signal won't work. -
Hey Everyone- I have a 2004 996 Carrera Cab where the rear passenger taillight has a broken socket. Actually, as many others have experienced the bulb can't make the connection unless I hold it in place because the contact broke inside. I've tried to rig a solution but nothing seems to work. So, I was hoping to replace the socket with this spare one I had laying around vs replacing the whole harness. Problem is that this existing socket has 3 wires leading into it (all others have just 2) ... brown, black and red. The replacement socket also has 3 wires as well, but I have no confidence of the mapping. It's an LED style socket commonly found on Amazon for generic replacements. My question is ... can I replace this socket with this one I had laying around (ignore the actual fit ... I can fix that), and if so, can you help me with matching which wires to which? Posible or am I SOL? Thanks Rob

My 1999 911 Carrera started smoking at a streetlight. Very smelly blue smoke was coming from under the engine cover. I pulled over and popped the cover. Blue smoke was coming from somewhere under the engine (not the exhaust). The engine stopped very suddenly. We don't have a local Porsche dealer, but the Subaru dealer owns a bunch of 911s and he has a couple Porsche mechanics. I had it towed there. The C1 fuse ("Engine Electronics") was blown. They replaced it, but as soon as they turned the key, the "cam adjuster wiring harness" (I do not know what this is) began to smoke, and the fuse blew again. They disconnected the cam adjuster wiring harness (I don't know what this means, and neither did the service advisor), and the fuse stayed intact, and they got the car started. They were able to drive it out to the parking lot with no problems. They said I need a new cam adjuster wiring harness (again, no idea what this is), and this would require an engine out repair, which they could not do. They estimated this work at $5,000 to $6,000. Additionally, they did not know how drivable the car was with a disconnected cam adjuster wiring harness. So ... how bad is this? (Service report image attached.)

I need to replace the ATF wiring harness in my 2002 986 w/tiptronic due to a defective temperature sensor that forms part of it. I have been unable to find any information as to what it entails and / or how it can be replaced. Appreciate any insight.
