I'm about to replace my valve body on my 2004 Cayenne Turbo, however this is quite confusing as it seems there are multiple different version of valve bodies with the same part number (955 325 039 00 ) From what I have found in researching, there are three visually different versions of this valve body, each pictured below. As you can see, there are two versions which have an additional 'port' or hole, one of these has a metal plate covering it, where as the other is left open. Finally, the third version has no port or opening at all. I ordered the original part number valve body for my 04 turbo, and I have received the variant in the first picture (3 port). Until I remove the transmission pan to do the replacement, I won't know whether or not this is the same or different as mine. Some things I have read suggest that the valve body simply had a different casting in newer years and these are interchangeable without an issue. What it says in the photo above seems to contradict this though, and suggests it is crucial that you use the same as what your car had originally. Another uncertainty regarding this is the TCU, and whether or not this needs to be changed or updated to suit different valve body versions. Searching for these questions on the internet is met with very little luck, and many contradictory answers. I would be extremely grateful if someone who is knowledgeable in this area can shed some light on this for me, as at this point I'm totally unsure about what is true and what isn't.

I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo in need of a new transmission valve body (yep, that's been said many times before I know). However, it seems that since the last topics on this issue were posted back around 5-10 years ago it's become significantly more difficult and expensive to track down quality rebuilt valve bodies for these cars. Many of the businesses that people used to reccomend such as RevMax no longer supply these valve bodies, and looking online most of the businesses that claim to sell them look incredibly shady and untrustworthy. On eBay, most rebuilt valve bodies for sale are cheap knockoffs from China or from dodgy looking shops in the US that claim they are rebuilt but they've just come straight out of old cars (as per buyer feedback). There has to be something in between all of these questionable units and a genuine brand new one which is something like $2,500 (or nearly $4000 in Australian dollars which is my local currency). Has anyone gone through this process in recent times and managed to find a quality rebuilt unit without having to go to Porsche for a brand new one? Any advice would be thoroughly appreciated.

Started the vehicle this AM around 10 to leave and the idle starts dropping right away but slowly while in park. Drops really low, then picks back up. Does this a few times while I'm going OH****. Put er in Drive and the idle drops again. It dies. I start it right back up and if I gave it gas same drop then dead. I'm going to test the other fuel pump with fuse on primary pulled. Last week we had humming coming from the fuel pump but it went away. While driving last day or so idle seemed rough. I'll be looking for the tech writeup on the fuel pump tests.

I purchased an '04 CTT about a year ago and have been slowly bringing the technology up to date (rear view camera, up-to-date stereo)... I was looking at the Cayenne fluid prices at Pelican Parts, and I noticed a section with wheel bearing grease and the following note: " It's a good idea to clean and repack your bearings once a year." I've never cleaned and re-packed my wheel bearings. My cars have always had bearings that appear to be sealed. I haven't found anything about this process for the Cayenne via google or in the forums here. Is this just a mistake at pelican parts, or should I be doing this? Has anyone cleaned and re-packed the wheel bearings on their CTT? Thanks.

Just for fun. Recently had my 120k mile service completed for my 04 CTT. Clean bill of health and ran good sounded better felt great. Soon there after I happened across a gent in a Viper truck, coming up behind me fast flashing his lights blowing his horn and then pulls along side window down and thumbs up. I think to myself, " ...man I too old for this sh*t...", but give him a go anyway. PSM off, suspension lowered and to sport, 3 horn blasts and floor it! After a huge breath and accompanying roar and turbo lag, it's 1st gear and off we go! Needless to say it was fun. More to say after he caught up; "...that's not stock!" No it isn't I reply. So as I let him speed of I continue my leisurely sub 60mph drive home. Along the way I get PSM failure visit workshop. Okay...next up check engine light. Hmm...next up tranny lights up like it's in safe mode but is audibly and physically shifting fine. Temp is a little higher than normal and hmm...no more than .3 bar boost at WOT? Okay what did I break now? SO, at home codes pulled: 2187, 2198, 2281, 0299. Okay smoke 'em! Turn out I've manage to "break?" the old worn out breather hoses and the intake distributor is leaking! Gee Bevis...anywho fun weekend for me! So, while I'm in there I think I'll swap out the diverter valves and control lines as well. Just wanted to share.

Hi to all in the forum, I am Chris from Greece and I am looking for a piece of advice. I have found a CTT 2005 with 35000 miles that a bank sells after being abandoned for 2+ years and not in garage. As the price is tempting and I am looking forward to spend some cash to bring back to the road.
