Hi everyone, first I would like to say thanks for a great site! I have a 2009 Cayenne V6 with a PCM system with Navigation. The car is all factory components with no modifications. It has a single DVD player and it is not a Bose audio system. There is a universal audio interface in the center console with iPod, AUX, and USB connections. According to the SET PCM screen, the PCM system version is V1.40. I assume this is the software version as I saw multiple references on this site to more recent (V2, V2.1) PCM systems on cars that were older than mine. A couple days ago, the iPod connection started misbehaving. When you play audio through the iPod connector, the audio level is very low and tinny, almost like a pre-amp is not working. I tried using the AUX input with the same result. I tried various iPods/iPhones with the same result. When I connect a USB device, the audio is normal, as is the audio for the radio and the CD player. I reset the PCM settings via the SET PCM screen but that did not help. I read through the forum, but did not find any posts with the same issue. I found one post that referred to a PCM reset procedure involving the MAIN and INFO buttons and a 1+4+8 button press on a keypad, but I don't understand this as I don't have a MAIN button nor a keypad. How does one reset this PCM system? Is there a pre-amp for the iPod and AUX inputs that may have gone bad? Has anyone attempted to repair such a thing? Any help is much appreciated!
