Help! I'm having some serious issues with my locking system on my 97 Boxster... What I have done already: I have replaced both the driver and passenger locks with new units. I have checked all wiring to make sure that there were no shorts etc. My current situation: Initially, after replacing the drivers side lock mechanism when you locked the doors the doors would immediately unlock again. I then replaced the passenger side as well. The lock on the passenger side did not lock when I used the key on the drivers side or the lock button on the dashboard. I have now disconnected the passenger side lock and ran a wire to manually operate the passenger side lock. (very discreet and besides it is my daily driver and very seldom do I ever use that door anyways). When I lock the car now, the flashers start blinking after about 10 minutes. Also, my key remote stopped working a long time ago but I really don't mind manually locking and unlocking the car. At this point, I just want the blinking to stop. My next step is to disconnect drivers side as well to completely by pass the locking system. I am fed up and have spent way too much time on it. BTW the alarm horn is disconnected already. Any toughs on how to stop the blinking lights? Why does it take 10 minutes for them to start blinking? I have read extensively on this so please don't point out the obvious as it was probably was already done. Sorry about any grammar or spelling mistakes...
