  1. rockinrosie, I would say the access point is your garage or storage area. Stop them from getting in first. If there is any damage to the car, try to make a claim with your insurance. Also buy a big freaking cat! :)
  2. Loren, I think he is saying the tires (all) have 4,000 miles. Right?
  3. Get a PPI done at a trusted Porsche shop/dealership. Get a print out from the DME (dealership) and look at the over-revs and ranges (6).
  4. Endaar, the maintenance checks are listed on our Home page. Change the brake fluid every 2 years. The brake fluid is now about 7 months past due. I also recommend changing the oil every year regardless of the low miles you put on the car. Or every 7-10,000 miles if you drove it more often during that year period.
  5. So much easier to leave the change at home...or in the tip jar...or donation/charity jar! :)
  6. Is it painted? Take to the dealer and see if they will cover under warranty. Worth a shot.
  7. I thought that was the whole purpose. Expensive mistake. Oouch.
  8. Is this for real??? :o Gandrade1, also Carrara White Boxsters are given an extra 17 HP right out of the factory.
  9. It is a little known fact that only the Senior Porsche techs build and assemble the "S" version. Junior techs work on the base models for a few years before being promoted. Also, no "S's" are built on Mondays or Fridays, and never after or before a holiday.:) I do not have a "Boxster S" badge on my trunk lid. I ordered the car without. My ego is fine. My right foot has the problem! :D
  10. Based on last year's "Excellence" article (October 2007) these are the values for a 78 turbo: Low $24,022 Good $27,312 Excellent $36,563 The market has only gone down the past +10 months. Use AutoTrader as a guide too.
  11. Look on your white options code sticker. Many times the PO will write it there.
  12. I have owned my 987S for about 3 years now, and have never seen the engine. I do hear it! :) So, it must be there.
  13. Right now on the Porsche web site, there are 53 987S's for sale 2005-2006. Many with CPO. Take your time. The search is a very-very fun part of the process!
  14. I would pass on both! #1 has too many miles and sounds kinda beat. White is a great color to care for. Sport Chrono is much more than just a stop watch. Greatly improves driver's inputs. Good option. #2 is a 2005. IMHO- I would never buy the first model year of a car. Great color combo, though. Take your time. There are 100's of Boxster for sale. Markey is very soft. The driving season for top-down is nearing an end. Prices will fall more. Be willing to look out-of-state too.
  15. Don't carry change around. Charge everything with a credit card. Why aren't the keys in the ignition? Leave extra keys at home. Lots of extra keys on a key-ring is noisey and not good for the car's ignition either (weight & vibrations).
  16. Did you recently add a fuel cleaner, prior to the oil sample?
  17. Chevon is excellent gas. I try to buy gas without ethanol. I get a couple extra MPG's.
  18. Many times prior owners write the radio code on the options sticker. Check there for a code too.
  19. The words "simple" and "Porsche" are just never to be used in the same sentence! :)
  20. Did you try turning off and then back on? Kinda like a re-boot.
