  1. 00BoxsterS, I don't have answers for your questions, but I do have great appreciation for your service to this country! Thank you.
  2. As hard as it may be, do you have a relationship with your dealership? They may help you out in light of the warranty expiration date. Worth a try.
  3. Use Rejex on your wheels, and all you'll need to do to clean in the future is hot soapy water, no wheel cleaner.
  4. Eslai, just curious, do you move the top up & down a lot (wear and tear)....or is the top down a lot (stress and stretching)? Thanks.
  5. Bring: 1) Fully charged cell phone 2) Music (CD's, iPod) 3) Extra quart of Mobil 1 4) Emergency tire repaire kit (plugs) Have a great trip!
  6. Everything I have seen, of value, says the oil should be changed prior to winter storage. And this is what I have done the past 3 hibernations. Why have 7-10,000 miles worth of contaminants sitting in the oil during 5 months of winter storage? I rather have fresh oil in the car...with minimal (if any) degradation taking place.
  7. Use this "color difference" in your negotiations with the dealership.
  8. I know squat about insurance and legal documents, but I do know a lot about negotiations. So I say, work with the dealership and your agent, and negotiate a settlement that everyone is happy with. You were at fault, so maybe you might just have to pay more than your deductable, to get your car back. Not fair, but may be necessary. How does the car look?
  9. Loren, what year was this available starting on the 987? I did not have (or see) this option for my 2006.
  10. Always change the filter (and crush ring). In fact, I have seen recommendations to change just the filter 1/2 way through the oil change interval.
  11. Yes, these would be great places for a PPI, but they are all very far away from Orland Park (Rizza).
  12. The last of the air cooled twin turbos are the 993 1996- 993TT 1997- 993TT and the 993TTS (very rare) 1998- there were some in the ROW, not in the USA
  13. Peter, $200 for a PPI sounds right. I don't know of Rennology, but that does not mean anything. I don't know many of the Indy P-car shops in the far south suburbs. Rizza Porsche is a good dealership.
  14. That's exactly what I said in my first post. "Have fun".
  15. Usaf-lt-g, guess your having a bad day. Maybe tomorrow will be better for you. Lots of anger in there. You need to relax and find your happy place. Do other people have an issue with your signiture? That's funny! Don't eat too many burgers...not good for 1/4 mile times.
  16. Oh, very sorry. Considering all of your "upgrades" listed, I think you'll smoke 'em. Rev up to 5,750 RPM, drop the clutch, and hang on! PS- but still don't bring your pink slip!
  17. These cars don't launch well. Do you have a new clutch ready to install? Have fun. Don't bring your "pink" slip.
  18. The 987/997 shifter is greatly improved over the 986/996 shifter. I think Porsche reduced the throw by 20-25% with the standard shifter.
  19. I have driven many manual tranny cars the past 25+ years, and the 987 clutch is excellent! You can easily "toe" the clutch or "ankle" the clutch. You do not need to use the "leg" to engauge the clutch. Have fun on your test drive! You will be a Porsche owner very soon. Good health, too.
  20. So, that was $1,300 for the rear bumper cover, spoiler, paint and install? Seems like a pretty good deal. Did you or are you planning to do the front splitters too? Did Sunset just sell you the aero kit for the rear end?
  21. Looks good! Glad you got it corrected. Who did the paint work on the aero kit? What was the total$? Not cheap, I'm sure.
  22. Looks good! Glad you got it corrected. Who did the paint work on the aero kit? What was the total$? Not cheap, I'm sure.
  23. Did a dealership do the work? I wonder if there is any necessary re-programing ron the DME equired??
  24. COBOXSTER-S, can you post a picture of your car? What did the parts guys at Sunset say? They are great guys, and can maybe help you too.
