  1. Cups tires are great. For perfomance & traction. Not for long wear. But, that's the price of addmission. Maybe you need dedicated track tires & wheels.
  2. I think here in lays some of the problem. I never use my AC either. Always top down on a nice summer day. But, about once or twice a month I purposely run the AC to keep everything working and the seals and gaskets lub'ed. This is the recommendation I received a few years ago from Forums like this.
  3. i'm still trying to figure the benefits of this upgrade. m I looked on the web site. They (Charles) explains it pretty well. Easier to change filter, use a better filter than OEM (questionable), no concerns with cross-threading, and eliminate the plastic housing were a few that I remember. I wonder if it slightly increases oil capacity? That would be a plus. Say a 1/2 quart, like some of the oil pan mods do.
  4. I believe it. GT3 RS owners either lock their cars up in the garage and keep as queens or are track junkies. They do not have time for the internet! :D
  5. Not sure what you are trying to do, but here is the entire kit. Check pricing at Sunset too." http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...ory_Code=987ext
  6. I think: 1) It should be a sub $15K car 2) Make sure you do a PPI 3) Have about $5k in cash, in your future maintenance budget for unplanned repairs, minimum
  7. In 2006 the color was called Sand Beige. I'll check the code on my paperwork when I get home. As for leather touch-up, call JoAnn at www.colorplus.com. She can set-you-up. They have the best leather care products I have ever used. They are also well know for the Porsche leather dye kits.
  8. I think RUF wheels look great! So, I can see why you are looking for some. I have seen them on eBay. Problem with RUF wheels and replicas, are the added weight over most of the stock wheels.
  9. A 106,000 miles on the original clutch? If so, I think you did great! Go buy a new one, celebrate, you deserve it. :)
  10. And only on the way up! So, if you miss a shift, the rev limiter will not protect you. Right, Loren?
  11. Well, pretty soon Porsche will have the same ownership Team as Lamborghini. So maybe you are on to something. I say go for it! :P
  12. Welcome to the Forum. It's a great place. I don't have much of an opinion either way regarding the Pananera. But, I'd never buy the first model year od any car or re-design. Wait until the next year.
  13. Since you asked. Stupid. A waste of time & money. But, it's your car. Do as you please.
  14. That's why I asked early on if you had any mods. I realize you were not aware until recently about the airbox. Hopefully an OEM part will fix you up.
  15. This is a long-shot, and may NOT apply, but have them look at the 987 TSB# 1726. I know yours is a 997. The early 987's had a "noise" issue at about 2,500 RPM and was related to a faulty oil pump control piston. The repair was pretty easy. Yours may still be exhaust related. Did they say anything about the cats or mufflers?
  16. Find me a jury that is going to feel sorry for a Porsche owner in a class action lawsuit. Not going to happen. ALL luxury sports cars have/had problem(s). There is no such thing as a perfect car. Although, mine is pretty close! :)
  17. I am a happy Zaino customer the past 3+ years. Just re-ordered some Leahter in a Bottle about 5 minutes ago!
  18. I don't think that is a real one. A true Porsche lover would never park it like that! And they would never go furniture shopping. Always an end spot, far away from other cars and shopping carts. Up-wind on a windy day.
  19. Can I do this to my Boxster S over the weekend and then call her a "Boxster S RS"????? :D
