  1. I really like those, but IIRC, they are about $500/set?? :) Very nice product.
  2. B I G G E R spacers means more unsprung weight and more stress on your wheel bearings. The 5mm OEM Porsche kit is very nice and gives you about a 1/4 inch to better fill the wheel arches. No difference in hadling since my name is NOT "Patric Long".
  3. Buy the 5mm OEM Porsche kit from Sunset. Includes everything you need.
  4. I am both. :) A 993 Turbo and a 987S. NO "O du oil" smell here. I'm on top of all my maintenence. But I do smell, tires, cosmoline and Zaino Z10 on occasion.:) Mostly the latter.
  5. Most likely not the clutch burning. Hot exhaust. See your B I G fat tires right there by the mufflers? Not to mention COSMOLINE still cooking off. When do you need a clutch? We it can't hold the power when the gas is applied. As the RPMs climb, you can see or feel a blip up in the RPMs but no actual increase in speed. The clutch then is starting to slip.
  6. One of my Porsches is 2 years older than yours. Same mileage. And I drive her over 300 miles per week. But only on a sunny weekend day.:)
  7. Good tips here! In fact, never use any fabric sofener for any of your car cleaning cloths and rags. Especially window cleaning towels. Always best to have dedicated towels. Glass only. Tires only. Leather conditioner only. You get the picture.:) I too make my own glass cleaner. Learned this trick from our Chicago Section Concours leader. I use 1 part denatured alcohol (buy at the hardware store in the paint department) to 2 parts distilled water.
  8. Did you look into Leatherique? Zaino Z10 is very good too. Go to www.colorplus.com for more ideas. Don't buy a new wheel. Send it our for refinishing. Oh, and buy a $7 sunshade at WalMart to protect your interior.
  9. Put a better nut behind the wheel.:) Become a PCA Member and do DE's and/or Autocross events. Imagine if you can drive even 1/10th better??
  10. Time for a Gundo hack?? Call the FD Motorsports guys. Good people. Ask for Mark or Darin.
  11. Not knowing what is wrong with your driver's side PSE muffler, maybe a repair is possible Call FD Motorsports. Maybe they have a solution.
  12. RUN! Now!!What a joke!! First, yes they can. I just had a dealership run a DME report on a 2011 911 GTS 2 weeks ago. I like this salesman's line the best: "The ECU data did not show any beneficial information" That's because it shows that the car has been beat to pi$$. So it is not beneficial to him to post it. But it is beneficial for you to run from the car. Renge #1 and #2 are fine and normal. Range #3 is a little of a gray area. Ignitions in range #4 and #5 show abuse (missed shift most likely) and would be about the time when Porsche start to void warranty claims. Keep looking. There are always MANY Porsches for sale. A better car is just around the corner. Embrace the hunt. You are very fortunate.
  13. That will be just fine. I use a +15 year old Toro 850. Works fine. And have a good extension cord. Keep your receipt. If you don't like it, return it.
  14. It was 1996. Ash Wednesday. Out for a jog before church. Got hit by a car. Hit & run. Year later had knee surgury. So, no, I've never been skiing. But I'll crosscountry ski. A little more controlled. :eek:
  15. LOL, so your wife keeps getting nailed. Ooops, that came out wrong!:) I'd never use the goooo with my cars. That's why I carry the tire plug kit. And stop driving in the rain. I may want to buy your Porsche some day.:):)
  16. I'd try to make it look better first, before dying. I'd recommend doing the Ragg Topp cleaner. You will need a quality cleaning brush too. Look into the Swiss Leather Cleaning brush at Detailer's Domain. Let dry thoroughly for a day or 2, and then give it 3-4 mid/light coats of the Ragg Topp Protectant. Use the entire can in 3-4 coats. See if that improves the look first. 303 makes a good product, too. Ragg Topp's parent company (Wolfstein.....spelling??) is the OEM manufacturer for Porsche. If you go the dye route. There is a product called RENOVO (spelling???).
  17. And your Bruins are up 3-0 on the Penguins! Relax. Chill.:) Really, don't drive in the rain. I may want to buy your car some day.
  18. Good technique is more important than the actural products (brand) used. And lots of water. This is the only time I let my Porsches get wet. Some tips: 1) good quality towels and rags 2) dedicated for thier jobs (glass, wheels, paint, and etc.) 3) wash wheels first, change wash water and rag, wash lower 1/2 car next, change wash water and rag, final wash the whole car again (except the wheels). 4) blow dry with leaf blower to remove +95% of the water
  19. You're not supose to drive a Porsche in bad weather. No rain. No snow. Only on nice days. Bad things happen at night. Only drive during day light. Keeping you cell phone charged, and a tire plug kit might save ya.
  20. Sounds normal. Have you confirmed the rear spoiler is NOT raising when you exceed 72 MPH's? You can not easily see it from the drive's seat.
