  1. I clean out my front rads every time before and after my car washing routine, with a leaf blower. Lots of stuff comes out. Especially dry, before washing.
  2. Take the money you would spend on a warranty ($3-4K?) and put into an interest bearing account as an emergency repair fund...and cross your fingers.
  3. Btboyd, what oil do you plan on using? Just curious.
  4. If you read through the entire thread that is linked above in Laporsche's post, you will get some good along with some more bad.
  5. Do you get this after every drive or just after a spirited drive? One explanation I heard, and it makes sense to me, is don't forget the hot exhaust is right behind the rear wheels. When you drive, you kick-up all kinds of crap that will hit the hot exhaust and possibly make a stink. After a spirited drive, where do you think those tiny-tiny pieces of tire wear go? On your hot exhaust...right! Maybe this is where the buring rubber smell comes from.
  6. Good info, Loren. Are these also the ranges for a 987S? Thanks.
  7. Nice pics! Love the black & white. The last one would look great in B&W too.
  8. Are you sure everything is closed on the inside too? Did you replace the factory radio?
  9. Renzop, congrats on the new car! I have Sand Beige interior with factory mats. Now I use an all weather mat called Hexo Mats in a beige color. Fit is great, and I don't dirty the floor at all. Lloyd's mats are very good. There are some really cool black rubber mats, for the 987, with a Porsche car silhouette in the grooves. You can see those at www.suncoastporsche.com.
  10. I understand your frustration, but a $134 repair bill for Porsche sounds like a deal to me! :)
  11. +1. I agree with Berty987. I think there is a range setting of 1-8 or 1-10.
  12. Correct, the red clip makes the Bose think the top is up, and therfore "reading" the car to be more quiet than it actually is. You can just poke your finger into the mircoswitch, and see how the volume changes.
  13. Congrats on the birth of your child! :D We all need to work hard to make this a better and safer World for our Children...and then they need to do the same for thiers.
  14. Thanks - Just trying to figure out if sport chronon is meanginful in the option pool for a new car purchase. I agree with you, Vman. This was the hardest option for me to decide on 2 years ago. It is very hard to see the difference during a test drive. I decided to get it, mainly because it was not that expensive. I am very happy with it.
  15. Did you, or the prior owner, remove the air intake tube (noise abaitment) on the drivers side air vent?
  16. Could be. Have you de-snorkled the car? Did you use a power sprayer/washer?
  17. In other words, the SC allows for more drive imput before PSM (please save me!) kicks in! If you have PSM turned off, the car will automatically turn PSM back on in a very critical situation. If you have the SC on, I am not aware of the standard PSM limits being automatically engaged in a critical situation.
  18. Sorry about you mishap. Buy some dedicated winter tires with your insurance settlement.
  19. I shift out of 1st quickly3-4K RPM's. After that, I use the entire RPM range and all 6 gears. If cruising on the highway, I'm in 6th.
  20. Tele, get a Personal Trainer! You need to work-out more and stretch your muscles! :) Congrats on the new car.
