  1. Wow, very nice! Well done. Enjoy.
  2. In general there are a ton of Porsches for sales. As there are other performance toys (brands) for sale right now. Remember, these are just toys. Great time to buy for a cash buyer.
  3. so, I bought the tire depth guage. The difference is 1/32. I don't think I'm going to need to change the old tire. What do you think? He car is driven very lightly, so there is hardly any wear on the tires. Sounds like you are good-to-go. As long as you measured in 2-3 different places. Good job! Measure your tread depth every 6 months or so, and log it with your maintenance records.
  4. The Mobil One 5W50 is Porsche approved, and should be just fine. Very hard to find in the USA, so you are lucky. Now, go tell the wife to take er easy! ;) Don't use 5W30. Can you buy oils like Motul, Red Line, Royal Purple or Brad Penn in your part of the World?
  5. kultyper, how did this play out? What did you decide to do? FYI- a new tire in your size is closer to 8/32's not the 9-10 that I first thought.
  6. Congrats on the new car! Are you taking that baby to a car wash! I hope not. That will cause you to be barred from Renntech for life.
  7. Maybe do the painted side vents from Bumperplugs too.
  8. Another +1 for Zaino. And I like RejeX wax for leading edges like the front bumper and side mirrors for bug splatter, and the wheels for brake dust/dirt.
  9. If I am in line-of-sight to the car, I may leave the top down and locked. Like at a coffee shop.
  10. Sad story. Very happy ending. Good for you! :)
  11. Phillipj, did you consider any of the products from Red Line or Royal Purple for example?
  12. Here is the LA link: http://www.911pcar.com/index.php?page=pors...riors_seats.htm You could also call Oklahoma Foreign.
  13. Post here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14539
  14. You are posting in the wrong tread. Have you looked on your white options sticker? Many times the P.O. will write the code there.
  15. Check: eBay LA Dismantlers Sport seats are a love or hate option. Has your friend spent much "seat-time" in them to know for sure they are really wanted?
  16. Regardless of what your final decison is regarding this specific car, take your time and buy the best car (and seller) you can afford and find. Be patient. There are a ton of Porsches for sale right now. Great time to buy for cash buyers. And make sure you get a Pre Purchase Insection (PPI) done by a qualified dealership or indy shop.
  17. And once you are done properly cleaning and treating your top, only clean it in the future with a stiff stream of water from your garden hose. No soaps.
  18. Congrats on the new car. Makes sense regarding the improvement. Now, make sure your tire pressures are accurate with a good gauge.
  19. Don't do it. Get Ragg Topp cleaner and the protectant.
  20. To be within Porsche's specification the consumption rate is 1.6 qts (1.5 liters) per 625 miles (1,000 km). I never need to add any oil between oil changes (approx 7,500 miles) and consider this to be normal. This is true for many other owners too. While others add a quart here and a quart there, and still consider this to be normal.
  21. This is a tire tread depth gage: http://www.drillspot.com/products/445323/W...ead_Depth_Gauge You can buy these at any auto parts store for about $5. I check all of my tires before and after each driving season, and log the info in my maintenance book for reference. On a PS2 tire, in your size, there should be 2 or 3 deep groves, in the center footprint, that you can measure. Don't measure out near the tire's shoulder. PSM= Porsche Stability Management (traction control).
  22. Congrats on the car! I'd say you are pretty close to needing to replace both tires on the same axle. An new PS2 tire should have 9/32-10/32 of tread. How many are on the current "old" tire? You may experience strange handling on hard acceleration, cornering, and rainy weather. The size different may also effect PSM, but you should know this by now if it did. I should add that your front tires should be just fine.
  23. Aly, congrats on your new car! While I'd say you got a good deal....13.4% off MSRP....I would not consider this a great deal. Better deals are to be had, but like you said cars with decent options will dwindle down.
