  1. Got mines 2 weeks ago, they're very good. And saves you a lot $$$. I'm not promoting them but the cheapest seem to be here. http://www.wheelsandcaps.com/ also check their store @ ebay. :)
  2. They sell it as "on bolt" no need to drill or other mods. What are the Pro's and Con's?
  3. I has driving my porsche for 4 years with aftermarket wheels since I adquire the car. I just change them to 5 spoke turbo style last week and the drive is a lot way better with stock wheels. Best thing done in all this years. 99' 996 C2
  4. I was about to put another link : http://www.theshanksfamily.com/technical_info.htm {this what is approved}
  5. Hope this helps. http://www.victorequipmentwheels.com/app_guide/index.php
  6. To much different colors: car (red), calipers(yellow), and rims "black"? What next...?
  7. Someone Said on a previos topic Duralast from Autozone and I follow it, I have Two years with no problem so far. B) 996 C2 1999
  8. my recommendation is go and ask everyone on ebay who has an amplifier for sell. I got lucky that way.
  9. No, I just unmount the interior parts at home, the mechanic couldn't work at my home so I took it to his garage in the conditions you see in the first picture. The mechanic just replace the evap from the housing. For me was to much complex to work in the evap housing area. Then the dumb mechanic didn't let me mount everything on his garage for insurance purpose. Then I towed back home to finish it. Just take this as a experience. If the problem is just the evap. I don't think is relevant to get the whole housing. Pelican parts is the only one that I know that sell you evap alone as an option with good price. Don't waste your time on other brands of evap as the configuration lines in/out are different and won't fit on the housing.
  10. Hello I solve this thing almost my self. The plan was to buy the evap at pelicanparts. Dismount all you see in this pics with the workshop manual took 6 hrs, very easy. except the evap housing in which the mechanic dismounted and mounted. I replaced my self the expansion valve and dryer. Then I mount the rest back in like in 5 hrs @ home. And return for air recharge. -evap $273 -dryer $41 "may be better price at ebay" -expansion valve $33 "may be better price at ebay" -car tow round trip $200 -replace the evap from housing and put it back $400 -air recharge $200 total: $1,147 satisfaction priceless if you can dig in on the evap housing complexity and get a air recharge housing gauge system for $40 at autozone plus refrigenrant and oil you save $ 800. 996 C2
  11. I found the 18 pins plug, need to put cables and pins contacts. The plug can be requested as a sample from tycoelectronics.com part # is 1-1355350-1. About the 20 pins socket, the part # is 4-828 882-1 this somehow is restricted, call them. good luck or http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...mp;hl=amplifier ENG_CD_1355350_A1_1_.pdf 889789_mqs18p.pdf ENG_CD_828881_H1_1_.pdf
  12. Thanks, Link Corrected. Well after all that they mail me a sample. which does not come with pins just the housing to built from scratch. the small pins has to be requested from same people and assembled by your self.
  13. I don't know too much about convertions, but i know that exist a RUF convertion kit and supercharger thing. http://www.rufautocentre.com/index.asp http://www.vf-engineering.com/index.php?v=...porsche_996.php
  14. Unplug and untight any screws supporting the amp bracket. Check the sticker at the amp.
  15. I took a closer look to the amplifier and I found some small number printed on the amp connectors end. on the 18 pins are :AMP 1-963539-2, if you type those numbers on www.tycoelectronics.com it show this: http://www.tycoelectronics.com/catalog/bin...RQPN=1-963539-2 once you're on this page look on "Documentation & Additional Information" data sheets. Open the PDF. This PDF page shows on bottom page the mating receptacle number housing, which is 1355348. then, type 1355348 on that website and you will be able to see the receptacle housing for that plug. then request a free sample. Not sure if include wires.
  16. I have the same problem here with a 99' 996 coupe M490 amplifier audio system.

  19. I just simply can't believe all you went thru. tire size? wow. I think psm light should got on immediately after those tire size. Porsche dealer saying... no it's the DME...lol PIWIS, PTS2 saying no problems the rest of suggestions were locally acceptable :lol:
  20. I tried Mahle for my 996 with no problem at all. I change it every second or third oil change. Currently I'm using the Porsche Brand because I got engine light on with some codes directing me to MAF sensor according with some post I read here, so I clean the aircleaner, throttle body,MAF and replace air filter Porsche Brand. so far no problem at all. There are some post here related to K&N filter compliant of possible damage to the MAF, no sure well but you can search it.
  21. I don't know if anyone have rusty calipers, never see ones. This are the pictures i'm referring from. thanks to JeTexas for the referral. Hobbes post look what i'm looking except for the calipers. Thanks for the humor,
