  1. woops sorry, I will confirm tomorrow as to what the problem is, mechanic said that hose or something won't fit. I will confirm Thanks!
  2. Basically my original is a 2.5L Engine, (98MY) I bought a 97 2.5L Engine, and the mechanic says that the oil pump doesn't fit? Is there any workaround ? Thanks
  3. Hi. I got a 97 Boxster Engine, the mechanic was telling me that it won't work because of the oil pump? Something about not fitting, what's the work around for this one? Thanks
  4. How i wish it was air inside, they checked and there were cracks on the engine block, any of you guys know anyone selling a good engine? So far im going to install a 2.5l boxster engine (a manual will fit on my tiptronic fine right ? Just move the old harness) but im actually considering putting a 3.2L engine, will that be too much work? Like aside from harness will it cost too much to do? What other parts would be needed? Thanks guys
  5. Hi, yeah i know, actually I read somewhere that 99 engines have been fixed, so hopefully I can find a 99 and up 2.5L engine so I can basically plug and play it in. Thank you very much!!
  6. Ok Thanks so much!! I will ask the mechanic to remove both engines and transfer all the parts. I just needed to be sure that the bolts and brackets will fit right in, because for example mercedes benz, manual engine and automatic engines don't exactly fit. so just needed to be sure that the manual engine will work without changing anything. just transferring is normal, I was just worried that I need to completely change transmission or whatever. If transfer old brackets and all is the only thing that needs to be done then that would be a lot easier. Any idea how long the whole thing will take? Also next problem is where can we find second hand engines :D i found some on ebay btw. Thanks
  7. So the wiring harness can be re-used, brackets no problem, when you say bolts are these the "cylinder head bolts" ? so everything will fit perfectly, transmission (tip transmission) to engine will all fit using the brackets from the old engine right? ok i wont update, too much problem haha thanks in advance
  8. Hi, Thanks, so basically the flywheel or the bolts will not be a problem? Do you have any idea on what are the parts that need to be stripped? btw just to be clear my boxster is a tiptronic model with a blown engine, so I plan to buy a manual boxster engine. Also is it possible to plug in a 2.7L engine? or is that a lot of hassle? Thanks!
  9. Hi guys, just an update, blown engine. (DEAD) so now im looking for a new engine. IT sucks!!!!! There was a crack on the engine block , so this is apparently a big problem. Anyway I am looking for a 2.5L 986 Boxster engine. Will a 2.5L Engine from a Manual Boxster work on a tiptronic boxster? Same 2.5L Engine Second question: Can i put a 2.7L Engine? :D haha
  10. Hi basically from my previous post, my boxster was overheating not just coz of cracked cylinder head or dirty radiator, apparently there was some cracks on the engine block, basically I need a new engine. I have searched the net, and i found some engines, 2.5L 986 engine. just one question if the engine is from a 986 Boxster 2.5L Manual will it fit mine? (986 Boxster 2.5L Tiptronic) Do i need to buy additional parts or what? Thanks... By the way, it really really sucks that engine needs to be changed.
  11. brake lights are ok, nope I used the Launch X431. I guess that can't read ABS or something because it reads tiptronic, locks , engine just fine, just the ABS part
  12. I doubt it is a CAN issue as on the older cars (MY1999 in this case) the only CAN communication was between the DME and the Tiptronic transmission. Later cars got much more communications over the network. Hi, so what could be the problem? How do I solve this issue? Thanks
  13. Hi, it has the euro package, because it can read the other faults, like it can read engine codes, locks, (thats where i got the lock limit switch not reached) but when you tap on the ABS , it couldn't read it. Any idea ?
  14. Thank you, actually already bought the cylinder gaskets, and there was a bit of water found so I guess that was what caused the overheating problem. for the ABS, yeah I think basically the X531 can't read the ABS codes. For the central locking, I am still asking the mechanic to tinker with the central lock thing. Anyway for the AM Radio any help guys? haha Thanks in advance!
  15. Hahaha its a zeintop, it works fine, but installation isn't easy. I was able to contact the maker. Just google zeintop boxster. I got it last march. Pretty good, makes the boxster look new haha.. Thermostat is okay, just the cylinder heads i think.
