  1. Thanks for your input I do not have upgraded dampers, should I do this at the same time, how expensive is that to do? Thanks again
  2. Hi everyone Well took my car out a few times this spring, and one day when pulling into my parking lot at work I hear a bang! Was not sure what it was but when I left work I was backing up and heard some scraping. I look underneath and my rear sway bar snapped between the bushing and the wheel on passenger side I have never personally seen a sway bar snap, but when I had it taken off, it had been broken halfway for a while. I bought the car couple years ago, and it is stored during the winter. I decided to go with Eibach front and rear kit, since the car is a 2001, decided to give it an upgrade. Has anyone done this upgrade, and what are your thoughts I have to wait 10 days to get the parts as no one stocks them, but look forward to driving it again,
  3. Thanks for that info, it just may be that. Car cranks but would not start as if it were not getting any fuel. If it continues I will look to change the CPS
  4. Check here http://www.permoveo....he/Default.aspx I have to agree with Loren on that code. The factory OBD II diagnostics manual code lists for a 2001 Boxster does not use that number, nor does any Porsche using the 5.2 or 7.2 DME. I do not know where that site gets its info from, but I would recheck the car with a proper system to confirm the actual code(s) Thanks for your reply I have a basic scanner and when I plugged it in that is the number it returned I did a search on it and the page listed was what I got I don't pretend to know more than season veterans that is why I posted here I am not even sure if the code had anything to do with my problem as I got it over 2 weeks ago, just thought I would mention it just in case it would have been helpful
  5. OK I know this is an old post, but thought instead of starting a new thread I would use this one I wanted to recover my seats, and is proving to be very expensive. Now there is a used auto parts store that I called for something else, and inquired if he had any 2001 boxster seats, he said that he just sold a pair but that he just got a pair of 997 GT3 seats with 6k on them. He is supposed to send me some pics and price later today. Does anyone have any experience with these seats, is it worth to change Boxster regular to the GT3 seats, or should I just get mine recovered? If yes, is installation easy, the shop told me that they will fit existing rails. The only difference is that I will not have the power function, which one the seat is set up I never use it anyways.

  7. Hi everyone Well have to admit this has been by far the best summer in years, and I pick the best time to by a Boxster. I understand that an 11 year old car will have it's problems, and have already experienced a few (New water pump & MAF) Well this past weekend, I went for a site-seeing drive and everything worked great, stopped a few times had lunch. Well on the way home from a 200 km day, we stopped to take some pics, when we got back into the car, she would not start. She turned over but wouldn't start. I open the rear trunk check the oil and coolant, which were both hot, but probably normal. Let the car sit for a few more minutes and try it again...nothing??? So I remember something I read somewhere (probably here) and open the gas tank and re-close it (Yes there was pressure when I open the cap) Go to start it, and voila, starts without hesitation??? I know I threw a code P0460 a couple weeks ago which is the fuel level sensor. Would this stop the car from wanting to start? I am just afraid that it might happen again and wont start next time...Could it be the fuel level sensor, because I did not get any codes when she would not turn over. Thanks
  8. Are you serious??? Three of us bought this car last year in order to flip it back here in Canada. Long story short, I never got to inspect the car, and person in charge of selling it never got a buyer. I decided to keep the car since it was not selling. Few things I found which I did not like was the fact it had a 911 front bumper and a scrap left headlight after we were told it never was in an accident, we did have the frame checked out now, and it is ok (Just hate when people lie) Now the CEL comes on (P1126) and I start to investigate the problems. Reading through this post I try to do a smoke test when I thought it was strange how this hose collapses and expands, now I find out it is the wrong hose :cursing: not a happy camper. Looks like will be changing this ASAP S.O.B.
  9. Hi there OK cleaned my MAF and found a hose that was not clamped, this hose actually expands and contracts when hitting the gas (I have not come across a hose like this before) Well did not have a hose clamp so I used a ty-rap until I can get one. Could this be the source of the P1126 Below is a pic
  10. Hi guys Well I went to change out my bulbs in my headlights and when I removed the passenger headlight, I found that the cover was missing Anyone know where I can get this, went to Pelican parts and could not find it. Also I live in Canada so local would be better Thanks
  11. Funny I did not know until I posted this pic that there were numbers under the fuses  I gather that the fourth bank from the top is D as I do not see letters, and the fuse is good. I also found the little switch that manually raises and lowers the spoiler, which does work. So I guess it is time to check the trunk to figure out the relays. Now since there is a relay for each direction Up & Down, should I try raising my spoiler and see if it retracts? BTW Maurice, when you say the left side do you mean the drivers side? Thanks Sorry if I changed the subject a bit but appreciate the help and will be looking into the smoke test for the CEL P1126
  12. Don't know, never knew there was a switch as I could not find any on the dash as I thought if there was one, that is where it would be. I will have to go check. Thanks Loren
  13. Thanks, for your input I talked to a friend and said you can always run a cigarette around intake and if it starts to pull smoke you have found it. Says to start after the MAF, good thing I still know people who smoke :) On a side note, I just found out yesterday that the rear spoiler is not working, could this be just a fuse, do you know how I can check easily? Thanks again
  14. I have no clue how to do a leak test, guess I will have to bring it to a stealership to check it out? Removing and cleaning the MAF was simple but not sure I want to try to find a leak.
  15. What can I say but thank you thank thank you Was geting tired of listening to my iPhone for music.
