  1. It is a 2002 "4 stalks control unit"
  2. Can I apply a same year 996 "4 Stalks control unit" to a Boxster? Please advice
  3. Thanks for all the reply I just want to ask one more question. If I had a 4 stalks control until, can I just swap the 2 stalks unit so that I can control the OBC panel. Is that a simple swap, do I need to puchase or rerun any connector/wiring. Everthough some user said that we can enable the cruse control at the same time, but let say if I don't need cruse control, can I still swap it just for the OBC and leave the cruse control deactivated Please advice Thanks
  4. It is not hard as long as you have the workshop manual
  5. You Don't need an AMP, I got the cable form my previous rear speaker system, one end go to the Porsche Factory CD or Tape unit and the other end connected to the Bose speakers system connector. I am not sure where you can get that cable individually, but I know on Ebay, all rear speaker upgrade system came with that particular cable, email those sellers, they may have extra cable for sale.
  6. Does anyone own any Boxster SuperSprint Muffler System before, is that very lound in sound level. If SuperSprint Muffler is a good choice for Boxster? Please advice Thanks
  7. I haven't test drive it a lot after the swap, since it is already snowing in Canada and the car already in storage. I find it the base is a bit better than my previous rear speaker system, but I need to spend more time on it to compare the different. The Bose system size is identical to my previous speakers system, my previous system is a factory storage chasis with 2 speakers on each side and there are sliding dorrs on the center.
  8. I finally swapped my exiting rear speaker system with the Bose rear system, it is a stright forward swap, both system are using the same connectors. All I need to do is to unplugged the connector on the existing rear speaker system and then plug it into the new Bose system and it works
  9. Thanks for your information, but I still would like to go after the Porsche Bose rear speakers system, do anyone now is it a stright forward swap from Porsche storage box with 2 speakers system to Bose rear speaker system with subwoofer Please advice Thanks
  10. Currently my boxster had 2 dash speakers and a rear storage box with built-in speakers, but no door speakers. I would like to upgrade the rear speaker system to a Bose system with subwoofer, do anyone know it is a stright simple swap? Are the connectors on both speakers system are compatible? Do I need to upgrade my AMP inorder to update the speakers or I can keep my existing AMP (I am not planning to add any door speakers in the future). Any help is appreciate Thanks :D
  11. what do I need to do if I take you first suggestion "fit the stalk" ? I would like to keep the OBC functions
  12. I change my cluster to a one that came with OBC function, but my boxster doesn't have the stalk/control for the OBC, is there a way to control the OBC. Everytime I start the car it complain about the airbag signal and it prompt me to enter "OK" to get rid of the message, is there a way to enter "OK" even my car doesn't came with the stalk control? Please advice Thanks I only got 2 standard stalks, and no cruse control
  13. I bought a LinkState battery few months ago and it didn't came with the vent tube, I called the LinkState office and they claimed that all their distributor should able to order a vent tube for free as long as you can proof your purchase. So I called my shop that sold me the battery and they order me back two vent tube. So if you need any extra one, just called your shop and place the order on behalf of you, they are free item from LinkState
  14. I read some of other guys posting, they all mention about GHL Muffler, is that a good choice? Does have one installed, do you like the sound of this muffler? Please advice
  15. I would like to upgrade my muffler system so that it will have a deeper sound and better performance. Can anyone give me some suggestion? Which after market band I should purchase? Thanks
  16. I have the same situation as you, when I first got my car it only came with a pair of dash speaker, I decided not to add a pair of door speakers, but add a rear storage compartment with builtin speakers. There are a lot of web article showing you how to install the rear speakers, and it is not difficult at all. I bought the rear storage case and the speaker unit from eBay at a reasonal price, and I upgrade the speakers afterwards (I believed the rear speaker should be a better choice than door speaker, since the sound came right behind your ears rather than under your foot. I also found that it is easiler to install the read speakers than the door speakers, since you have to open both door cover panels to run your cabling and also you have to drill holes too. Even though the rear speaker may be a bit more expenisve than the door speakers (hardware wise) but you can do it yourself on the rear speaker installation, while the door speakers may involve professional installation. Go to ebay and you may find some good deal for the entire rear speakers and stroage unit Good Luck
  17. I upgrade my 2002 Boxster non-s exhaust system with a 2003 Boxster S factory system, it looks very nice and I look it a lot, I am not sure about the sound differnet, but it definately worth for my upgrade, it cost me $250 to purchase the exhaust from eBay and $200 for installation. The is no modification done. If you are going to upgrade the exhaust to Boxster S or sport system, you should also considering to have the rear diffuser, it match perfectly. For my upgrade, there is no modification at all, just plug and play
  18. I broken the clock adjuster on the cluster instrument. I try to use crazy glue to glue them together, but it don't work. Is there any way I can replace the broken part. the tip of the plastic rod is still stuck inside the clock adjuster know when it was broken, I can't take the tip out of the knob. I beleive I have to replace the plastic rod and the time adjuster knob. Is anyone has and idea on how to replace those part? Thanks
  19. I install mine few months ago, I found that the most time consuming part is to take out the two orignal plastic blinding, you have to use the cutter to cut off the connectors. Other than that is is preety straight forward. I think anyone can do it as long as you follow the instruction, it just time consumming, no special tools and skill set are required for this assignment. 21. I took out the factory seats last week and try to replace a GT3 seats onto the car, I follow some other guy instruction by seperating the seat belt buckle from the factory seat, now the seat belt is on the new seats. On the driver seat the cable connector is blue color and the passenger seat is green color, I plug each cable back to the factory connector located at the bottom of the car floor on each side accordingly. When I turn on the key, I see the airbag light is on, is there a way to reset airbag light, do I have to bring it back to the dealership to reset it, is changing the seat belt buckle causing the issue. How can I resolve this issue, is anyone having my same issue before, please advice Thanks
  22. I would like to lower my car about 1", I purchased a set of EIBACH PRO-KIT SPRINGS system. It is very difficult to change it by myself, I came across with some article show how to replace those springs. Can anyone tell me after changing the springs, do I have to do any other follow up work on the car, such as checking the aligment, brake and etc... If you had done it before, please let me know it is just a simple wrap of the factory spring with the EIBACH PRO-KIT spring, or ther is a lot of other concern too Thanks
  23. Thanks for you link, if I want to use the four points seat belt system instead of the factory seat belt shown on the refer document, but I still want to keep the airbg and seat belt warning light working, what should I do? please advice Thanks Honestly, I don't want yo keep the old seat belt, I would like to either have a four or five points seat belt system, did anyone done that before? I know if I use the old seat belt, all I have to do is to transfer the old seat belt receptable and its cable to the new seats, but I really like to get the four or five points seat belt system, do anyone know where to get a four or five points seat belt system that would work with porsche factory receptable device (which mean the 4 or 5 points seat belt buckle can work with Porsche factory seat belt receptable device/connector)? Thanks for your advice, at this time I may stay on the factory seat belt system, I really worry about street legal issue. I don't want to get any more ticket at this time. I just want to improve the fun of driving by upgrading the seats, my factory seats have minor crack on the driver seat, I got a quote form the leather repair expert, inorder to fix the seat I need to invest $200-300 dollar, my decision is to replace both seats with GT3 seats and then reseller my factory seats. At first I would like to replace the factory seat belt to 5 points seat belt system due to better looking, but I think I need to re-consider a bit more before I move onto the 5 points system belt system.
