  1. I think that is normal for stock rear to not have the "spring". I remember putting the stock "spring" around the stainless lines I bought but none on the rear. Perhaps they updated the part for rears?
  2. There is a metal wire that is behind the tail light you can use to pop the trunk.
  3. What is the latest USA maps?
  4. You can find articles that outline how to disable the TPMS.
  5. Whatever is in sunscreen seems to greatly accelerate the wear. So couple that with hot car and they turn to crap. Just replace them.
  6. At leats in the 996, the final microswitch is often in the latch assembly. There is a piece of plastic that goes onto the hook that sometimes falls off. If your roof is latched then perhaps it is in the clamshell where a microswitch is triggered at the end of the clamshell travel. That is performed by a metal "foot" coming out and pressing the switch. Search my previous posts about clamshell. Hope it is similar.
  7. Hey let me know if you need access to w PIWIS to resolve. Good job on the rebuild.
  8. For some reason 19" pops in my mind. Make sure you support the engine when removing the trans. I had a hell of a time lining mine back up and had to loosen engine mounts.
  9. Likely replacing the heavy exhaust with something lighter and free flowing. Intake is just for sound. Shed weight.
  10. Ah sorry I thought you had base CD radio, not PCM.
  11. The phone/CD changer plug in the back on the radio is pretty straight forward. I would think either ignition switch needs replacement (causes electrical gremlins) or swap out the radio with one from eBay. (can get coding from this forum)
  12. PM me for stuff that a dura might not fix.
  13. Bet you can find a replacement cheap on eBay.
  14. Any thoughts on testing voltage to the "door closed" pin which I think is somewhere in the 4-5-6 Not used of Plug 5? Not much out there in other forums.
  15. Whaaaa, most Pontiac folks flush their coolant to get away from DexCool
  16. Any way to check with multimeter to confirm the button is "stuck"?
  17. So you are powering the control unit of the memory seat or just directly into the seat?
  18. 02+ doesn't need a engine drop as the solenoid for variocam+ is right behind the exhaust braket. Swapping sides to see if follows the unit is a good test.
  19. Can't wait. Sounds like a good solution unless you plan to drop engine all the time.
  20. Nice work on the updates. Does make sense now, hope the repair goes smooth!
  21. Use the parts from the Craigslist motor to repair the 2000 C2 original motor. Then drop that into the car. (Granted the craigslist motor is also 99-01) Of course fun starts there with pairing DME/immobilizer, etc
  22. At 150k mi why wouldn't you sell it as a roller and go with 02+?
  23. I read on garageforum they were going to made a longer span 4,000lb one.
  24. I believe there is an A update cd and then a B update cd that will allow the DVD to read the newest maps.
