  1. Thanks Cat! I have to wait to more days...... Arghhhhhhh
  2. Don't buy a 996 without a warranty. Your $20k car can quickly become your $40K car and only be worth $15k. I learned the hard way.
  3. 500, Why did your engine need to be replaced? On an 07???? Please do tell.....
  4. Sounds like a problem child to me..... :o
  5. I'm definetly going to do that! That's the only thing that it needs. Thanks for the tip!!!!! Great price from Suncoast Porsche... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Genuine-Por...sQ5fAccessories
  6. Thanks Bolobar. Guess I can live with that... :D
  7. Yes it will show up. Anyone that knows Porsches will know that a new engine in an early 996 is a good thing.... Especoially if it's a reman Porsche motor..
  8. What does your steering whell look like Sam?
  9. Thanks everyone for the compliments on the new ride. Yes it does have PSE and just about every other option available. Tekk I'm not sure about the steering wheel. Maybe that's how it was ordered. I'm going to leave her stock. No body kits or lowering springs or stuff like that.. I drop off my cursed 996  and pick up the new 997 :D on Wednesday. Can't wait ... Like a kid waiting for Christmas... Will post pics when I pick it up..
  10. I personally would pay a premium for a Porsche reman in a 996 compared to a low mile original engine. But of course I'm biased as well.. :D
  11. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  12. I pick up my 06 baby on Wednesday. It's getting new rear tires (courtesy of the dealer) :D Rock chips on the front bumper painted and the windows tinted (as well as full detail inside and out.) I will post pictures as soon as I have it. This is what it looks like before tint and detail....
  13. That's a good sign Sam. At least when they replace your engine you will have a freash 3.8 that is much better than your original engine plus a 2 year warranty! :D
  14. Thanks Flying Cat! I get it next week. Can't wait...
  15. Excellent advice Hamad. Tekky, hopefully Porsche will do the right thing and replace your engine. Seems the norm for the 05's
  16. That's awesome.... :clapping:
  17. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: Love stories like that....
  18. No. Not in a significant way that's for sure. And 05 (according to RFM) was supposed to be Porsches worst engine build year ever. That's why they replace the engines when they are out of warranty.. I don't think that Tekky will have a problem getting a new engine. Wish that could be said for the m96's other victims.... :censored: :censored: :censored: :soapbox: :soapbox: :soapbox:
  19. All 2005's failed engines I have heard of were replaced (even if they were out of warranty) by Porsche. Like RFM said... I wouldn't worry.. You will get a new engine. Lesson to be learned here... Don't ever be out of warranty with a Porsche!!!!!! Pay the money and get the warranty. You will get two years with the new engine (but only on the engine I believe..) Extend it to at least 4 years... Ask me how I know and I will tell a very sad tale.......
  20. Thanks guys. I may make the deal this week. I will trade in my car and get rid of it once and for all. The 997 car is perfect and the dealership in having some paintchips in the front bumper painted and well as repairing a small curb rash on one of the rear rims. . One of the door pulls ion the inside is chipped and they will replace that as well. I belive this car was owned by a woman and she and her friends used it for shopping and lunch :o $53,900 for an 06 with 17k miles is a much better deal than most of the 05's I have been looking at. My wife says I'm obsessed and sadly to say I believe she is right. ;) I'm going to look at another 05 car tomorrow or Wednesday. This has been a very expensive lesson for me. Never ever ever buy a P car without a warranty. This error will cost me about $35,000. That's a lot of freakin money....   I had a relative drop dead the other day out of nowhere,,, Fit man in his 40's was running and was dead before he hit the ground. Got to make the most out of everyday cus I don't know how many I may have lol! So that's a dam good excuse to buy a new Porsche :D
  21. Found a black with Terra interior 06 S with 17k miles. It has Sport Chrono and PSE and Sport seats and a warranty. I can get it for $53k (plus freakin CA sales tax of 9.75%.) It's a beautiful car. Bit more than I want to spend but a year newer. Good price? Looking at more this week....
