  1. Good luck, I hope you can figure it out
  2. I agree with Loren. Some people have done a "fan hack" to have their high speed (radiator) fans and rear engine fan run continuously or by a switch in the interior. It's possible that the previous owner may have done this hack. It's controversial to say the least (if you do a search here on "high speed fan hack" you will see what I mean). Good luck and let us know what the test reveals.
  3. Gentlemen, Please don't forget about the poor guy who's Boxster wont start :o
  4. I have been reading the various threads on wheel spacers. I had always thought you only used spacers when you changed wheels. When looking at my car my immediate thought is that it would look better with spacers on the rear. I have the stock Carrera 5 spoke 19's. The rear wheels don't really fill the wheel well as much as I would like. If I were going install spacers which ones would I order? Is 5mm the norm? Is it best to order the Porsche OEM or is there a aftermarket alternative? Don't want to do anything to void my warranty. Any insight and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
  5. I found the thread. Hope this helps http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...mp;hl=seat+swap
  6. I remember a thread on this not too long ago. I beleive that the rails are the same but the connectors for power are different. I recall that it's not an easy swap. Hopefully somone else will chime in with more info.
  7. I believe if you do a search you will find the information you are looiking for
  8. Yews they are 19's. I recently adorned them with the color Porsche crests. :D
  9. option 3. with that mileage you should be able to get an extended warranty as well. Please post pictures when you get it! :drive:
  10. You're driving a chick's car for suree! j/k S I can live with that... Next I will find a GT3 that a woman ordered
  11. Agreed. That is what I said in my previous post.... Of course Black and silver may be the exception (on a black or silver car)
  12. Thanks Loren...So where would I buy the key? Sunset?
  13. My new car (to me) only came with one key. Seems the previous owner lost the other one  I would really like to have a spare. What is the best route to go? The dealer I bought the car from said he could get one for me for $300. I know the Porsche dealer needs to program the key. Is there a more cost effective way to go or am I stuck with the $300? Thanks !
  14. I have seen cars in L.A with matching wheel paint. To me it makes the car look very cheap (and very Japanese tuner.) Of course Black and silver may be the exception (on a black or silver car) Your car looks great with the silver 997 wheels. Go with your gut and not what your friends say. That's my 2 cents anyway..
  15. Don't rule out your ignition switch. When one goes out it can cause all kinds of issues with your climate control. Try jiggling the ignition key and see if it makes any difference.
  16. Please do not paint your wheels the same color as your car :o . It looks sharp the way it is. The "matchin"g wheel look is very cheap and tacky IMHO. I like the idea of painting some of the interior peices. Just make sure the paint shop does a proper job painting plastic.. If not the paint will soon chip and look like crap. Good luck with whatever you decide :D
  17. Glad you got it sorted. Maybe a good idea to stay away from the "Ebay unknown" factor.
  18. If you are under warranty I wouldn't worry about it. That's the beauty of the warranty ;) . As long as you have done the scheduled maintenance you are in good shape. Let us know what you find out.
  19. Go with the 06 C4S and get the warranty. You will be happy you did plust that is an awesome car. I agree with the other poster... you should be able to get that price down. Good luck !!!!
  20. If I'm not mistaken the wheel w/ the triangular air bag is the wheel normally on the non 'S' 997 cars. That wheel would usually come with the radio/phone/pcm controls on it when ordered on an "S' car. I believe the 'standard' 997S comes w/ the 'Sport Wheel' (round air bag, fatter & w/ ergonomic grips). I'm puzzled why someone would 'special order' the non 'S' wheel. I've never seen that wheel on an 'S' car unless it had the controls. I guess they didn't like the way the 'Sport Wheel' looked. I agree. It's the only "S" I have seen with this wheel. I think a woman ordered this car and maybe she thought the "Sport" wheel was too masculine :o I don't mind it though and I'm certanly not going to pop for the other wheel (It's stupid expensive.) I got a great deal on the car and I love it. Maybe if one falls on my lap I will replace it. If it was a woman's car funny she would order the Sport Chrono and the PSE though....
  21. Allibalan, It's probably your RMS (Rear main seal) Like AP said get under the car and take a look. I wouldn't be overly concerned. A small RMS leak certainly won't make your motor go ka-blooey. Just get the seal replaced if it's the culprit. You still have a warranty?
  22. Thanks for the helpful responses. As for the spacers, I'm adding them for aesthetic reasons having already persuaded the dealer to swap out the standard alloys on the car for the carrera sports - both are nice, just love the painted finish of the sport wheels on a silver car. You want her butt as wide as possible don't you B)
  23. Frank, Why was a major service required at 25k miles? The 20K service is minor. You dont have a major service until 40k miles. Is this what your dealer told you? You can down losd the service schedule from this site so you can see the intervals for yourself. Regarding the vibration I would have them make it right. I hate dealers..
