    I know there is a good DIY on B&M's website. I believe that there may be another one floating around as well. I did one install with a friend. Most of the labor is removing the console and trim.. You have to have the right tools not to damage or scratch anything. I had the OEM SS kit in my 06 Carrera and in my present 07 Turbo. I love it. No complaints whatsoever.. MAcarbon has a great set of tools ($20.00) for removing trim pieces. Try this link and go all the way to the bottom of the page and you will see it.     Awesome. I will hit 60k on my turbo very soon. Good call on the water pump and other measures your taking.. These cars are incredibly reliable if you take care of them...

    My greatest fear is someone doing that to my car. I'm so sorry my friend.. I hope you get it repaired to your liking.. I would go the insurance route and get it done properly. Like you said.. What goes through a "persons" mind that would do that..... Very sad..

    Price is okay.. Options are basic. I don't care for the seats. I like the sport seats You can take a look at Autotrader and see how prices are for 2010's.. You may want to look for a Carrera "S". Price won't be that much different and you'll get more power.. Meteor grey is my favorite color on a Porsche. You might want to shop a bit more unless the Carrera you found is what you are looking for. Your review of the 991 made me laugh. I too have a tough time with the 991 interior.. I like the seats very much but my knee slams into the center console (and I'm not very tall) It works in the Panamera but not so much in the 991 (my opinion.) My dealer told me that the minute I drive the 991 I wont be happy with my 997.....Errrr..Not really. I won't be trading the Turbo for a 991 any time soon... I would like a 991 PDK to be my freeway car but not my "fun" car.. Good luck in your search! The 997-2 is an awesome car!

    Forget adding HP with an airbox period. Anyone that says you can is full of c@$p.. If you want the coolest looking go for the Porsche X 50 CF airbox. You will have to re fabricate your oil filler tube though. Lots of my friends have the K & N intake with no problems. Can't beat the sound...

    Uwon, No the RE-11's are not noisy.. Here's a picture of the front on my Turbo.. The only thing about them (visually) is they dont have that nice lip that the Michelins have..

    You might want to try the Bridgestone RE-11's . I have had 2 sets on my Turbo and like them a lot.. They wear about average, have good grip in wet and dry and are reasonably priced..

    Wow that is scary that the techs at that dealership in Sigapore are that poorly trained. It's not like Singapore is a sleeply little town...

    It's a great time to be in the market. The 997 TT is an awesome car. I like mine so much (I have an 07) I may trade it in next year for an 08 or 09 TT.. Prices are getting really good.. Good luck!

    You might want to try the new Michelin Pilot "Sports".. They look identical to the 'cup" tire I have several friends who recently bought them and are very happy. They are less expensive than the other Michelins, are quiet, have great grip and they wear much better. Michelin claims up to 30% more wear.. I'm not sure if they make a size for your car though..

    There are a lot of cars out there. If you don't feel right about this one move along.. You didn't mention what they are asking for it.. You may be able to get a better deal from a private party. I would look around untill you have seen/driven enough cars to make an informed decision..

    Unfortunetly Porsche does not offer a lowering kit for the 997.. You will have to go with aftermarket springs if you want it lower. Eibach is good daily driver spring. It will lower your car about 3/4 of an inch. Still will drive nice on public roads.. And it will handle better. Understeer is greatly reduced on corner entry.. If you are under warranty this will void any suspension failures.. So that is something to think about...
