  1. Beautiful C2! Love the wheels! :clapping: Phillipj
  2. Can you post a pic of the engine? Love to see that. Phillipj
  3. Giahan, You got a great deal! I'm in Pasadena in So Cal and they are typically 4 or 5k more than that for an 05 with that low milage. Plus you got the Ceramic brakes and all the exhaust goodies.(that is at least 4k). Let me get this straight... It's supercharged? That's like a 25k plus mod!!! Maybe they had to sell it cheap because the supercharger would void the warranty. Congrats on the car. What a beauty! It mus be reallllllllyyyy fast! I'm looking to buy a similar 05 s car next year to replace my 996. Enjoy it! Phillipj

Plus you got the Ceramic brakes and all the exhaust goodies.(that is at least 4k). Congrats on the car. What a beauty! I'm looking to buy the same car next year to replace my 996. Enjoy it! Phillipj
  5. Glad to hear that you did the dyno test. I'm still very happy with mine as well! I agree the power gain is really felt at between 5500 and 6500 rpm. A very nice mod in my opinion. Phillipj
  6. Promocanthus, I asked Orient about his regime for cleaning as well. This was his reply... He removed the cosmoline (not sure what he used to remove it.) He pressure washes the underside of the car twice a year. He uses Simple Green and wipes everything off by hand. For the engine compartment take out the air box and stuff a rag in the throttle body. Make sure to cover the alternator with plastic as well. I bought some of the heavy duty Simple Green and it works well. Did the engine compartment. Going to start my cleaning process on the rest of the car once the rain stops here. Happy cleaning! Phillipj
  7. Zee, Hopefully others on this forum (that are much smarter than me) will reply to your post. The 12 hour curing time does sound a bit odd. I hope this turns out well for you. Phillipj
  8. I have exactly the same problem with my 996 C2. I have about the same mileage you do. I'm not sure where my leak is coming from either. As far as I know the special sealer (or adhesive) is a Porsche silicon. I would't be concerned about it turning to "Steel". There is no gasket on the cam cover. Only the silicon sealer is used. I would assume that your mechanic is using the same sealer on the cam plugs. Please let me know if the additional repairs (the cam plugs) cured your problem. Also if you could let me know the cost of the repair I woould appreciate it. Thanks, Phillip
  9. Viola, I would seriously consider getting an attorney. What they did has devalued your car. That is totally unacceptable. Sue everyone and see what sticks. Believe me they won't like having to appear in court I'm not "sue happy" but your case is worth it. I'm sorry that happened to you. Phillipj
  10. Soutah It looks awesome. Is it Glacier White? I have a 996 C2 that is Gacier White. It's such a great color and pretty rare. You might want to consider a chin spoiler on the front to compliment the agressive wing. Just an idea. Beautiful car!! Phillipj
  11. Kenny, Can you give me the link for the "Hyperformance" site? I couldn't find the site. Thanks, Phillipj
  12. Silver is right. If you bypass the mufflers....... Why would you need mufflers? For what it is worth, DO NOT INSTALL THE CAT BYPASS PIPES! I have the Fabspeed mufflers and love them. It fell for the Bypass pipes claims as well. First of all, for everyday driving you will have a loss of low end torque and the sound is REALLY obnoxious. The exhaust system is designed for the cats. Unless you have at least 50 cel cats the car will run like crap. I was so unhappy I returned the Cat Bypass pipes to Fabspeed and they gave me my money back. Also forget the claims of 30hp. The mufflers are awesome and have great sound but that's it. My friend has the bypass pipes on his 996 .. There is also a loss of low end torque as well. One thing good about the muffler bypass pipes is that they are inexpensive and you can swap between the mufflers quite easily. And obviously they are very loud. Check out Fabspeeds site and they have a sound clip with the muffler bypass. Just my opinion and experience Phillipj
  13. Thanks Loren, Thanks RFM. Sounds a little above my skill level. I will do some more research. Thanks again fo the information! Phillipj
  14. I am truly envious... Congrats ..What a beauty
  15. 1999 996 C2 Where is the best place to buy an oil filter removal tool? I saw in Loren's oil change DIY it was $7-$22 at the dealer. Looking around on the net they are about $36 bucks. Any suggestions? Thanks Phillipj
  16. Kenny, Your car looks fantastic! NR Automotive has some really cool twin tips for the 996, 996 C4S. Thet are $295 for the chrome. Here is the link http://www.nrauto.com/sub_index.asp?makeid...spage=Accessory iT'S LISTED TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE ON THE LEFT MENU Phillipj
  17. 1999 996 C2 - 68000 miles I have diagnosed that my oil leak is coming from my cam cover on the drivers side. I would like to replace my gasket myself. I have spoken to a few of my mechanic friends and they told me that I can do it. Has anyone done this job themselves? It's a common fix on a high mileage 996 so I would imagine that someone has. I'm not going to tackle it unless I know what to expect. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Phillipj
  18. Fred, I would put the M030 suspension on the car and keep it. The suspension and sway bars improve the handling dramatically. I put the M030 on the car with the idea that I was going to sell the car and a fresh suspension would be a plus on a 100k plus car. Changed my mind 2 weeks later, although I will admit the 997 I test drove was a great handling car. hey hey hey i took your advice did get the M030, it is being istalled now, and will pick up my car in a few hours best fk :D :drive: :jump: How much did the suspension and sway bars cost? Thanks, Phillipj
  19. I have the instructions for the E bay blue LED's now. P.M me if you want them. Phillipj
  20. Can't you go through a dismantler? Seems like that could be an option. $1800????? A freakin new engine is $12k. A hate Porsche for things like that. Good luck and I hope you find a solutiion. Phillipj
  21. I ordered the kit so I will let you know how it works out. I have a friend with this kit and the blue is really nice. I used my AMEX so If I don't like it I won't have to pay. I'll update after the install,. Phillipj
  22. Loren, I'll do that. Thanks
