  1. Nice write up and great pics. Thanks for that I will add it to my DIY collection! :renntech:
  2. There are so many good P cars out there now be patient and look around. There is no reason to buy one that you know may have an issue in the near future. Keep looking until you find exactly what you want. Also one that passes all mechanical tests. Just my 2 cents...
  3. I don't know about that specific wing but I had NR body kit (rear bumper, side skirts, wing and spoiler lip) on my old 996 and it was of great quality and fit perfect.
  4. My advice is to just get the X 51 headers from Porsche. They are not pretty but fit perfect and will increase performance. Also they are reasonable price. here is a link from Suncoast. http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...ode=997sexhaust From what I have read none of the aftermarket companies have made a header that performs better than the X 51.
  5. Hi cleaned the throttle body (it wasn't that dirty anyway). No change I'm afraid. Any other ideas? the dealer checked the MAF sensor and said it was working fine. Thanks Darrin Smith Idle valve. Refer to my last post
  6. Let it be. It only looks good on the 997 MK2. Just having LED in the rears doesn't cut it. You need the aesthetic all around. This type of mod is no better actually perhaps worse than the VW Jetta guys putting on 12 Kelvin HID units with under body neon lights. There go my underbelly lighting plans......
  7. Try cleaning the idle valve as well. My 99 was surging at idle. Not exactly the same symptoms as your but it's an easy DIY and worth a try. It cleared up my problem in my non e gas 99 C2 and didn't cost a dime.
  8. I don't know where you live but you could definetly get a better price than $129k for an 08 GT3. Here is an example of an 08 with 2200k miles for $119K. That's before negotiation... If you really want a GT3 you have to drive it first! Be patient and look around and don't leave out a very low mile 06 and 07.. They are an awesome car but not for everyone. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=c...;standard=false
  9. Well done. Unfortunetly we have to laugh because of the subject matter.
  10. Oh. Sorry. In that case can you please send me another lovely brochure describing the engineering excellence that goes into every Porsche? :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  11. Done and now handbrake is perfect. Thanks ! :renntech:
  12. That is not really a crack in your head. You just think it's a crack in your head. And if it is a crack you must of dropped your engine and cracked it. Have a nice day and that is not oil in your coolant either.. You Americans are really annoying. PORSCHE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT
  13. Put a stop (or contest the charge) on the payment if it was a credit card (I hope it was AMEX they are the most customer friendly) Contact the people you placed the order with and tell them that your attorney will be contacting them if you do not hear from them in 24 hours. If you have an attorney friend contact them and have them send a letter intending to take action if no response. Usually a letter from an attorney will get a response. Lack of communication from any company that already has your money is a bad sign... Good luck
  14. One more question.. If the hub (rotor) is a "clock" about where is the adjustment gear located? Also do I move it down to make it tighter or up? Thanks!
  15. how do you re fill the fluid?
  16. I found this link by Loren to adjust my hand brake http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...rt=0#entry52192 I attempted to make the adjustment this morning... I have never tyried to do this before so be easy on me..... Three questions. 1. How do I safely push back the brake pads from the rotor? 2. I couldn't find the adjustment "screw" theough the threaded lug hole. All I could see with a flashlight were small springs.. I didn't see anything that could be adjusted with a screwdriver. What should I be looking for? Is this a "gear" or an actual screw? 3. How do I remove the portion of the console to get to the other adjustment nuts for the hand lever?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (at least I cleaned my calipers when I was in there :D.) Thanks!!
  17. I like the baseball bat technique.... Please post pictures and video if possible
  18. I wouldn't worry. If you had a cracked head you would know. Probably with water in your crankcase. Another happy AOS story :clapping:
  19. :clapping: :clapping: :cursing: :clapping:
  20. I have always replaced my caliper bolts. I guess I'm a sucker. Plus they are quite inexpensive online.
  21. Doug ..Your anger can be eliminated by giving $12,000 to the Porsche gods (they prefer cash.) B) Thats's what I did and I feel much better now :D
  22. :welcome: Here is alink to get you started on appearence mods. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...oxster+body+kit Do search in the search box for other threads for performance and such for Boxsters.
