  1. Bilabonic, Sorry I did not know that the 03 was a new design. At least you got a link to some other good Boxster information
  2. You lube the O rings with it. In Pedro's DIY he gives you instructions. Even at the dealer the parts are cheap. Your dealer will have everything you need. Pedro's site is awesome. Take a look at all his DIY's. He will save you a ton of cash if you like to do things yourseelf. Glad I could help
  3. Bruce, I don't have the stock springs so that really isn't an option (although a good suggestion.) My car would look really funny at stock hieght. I'll do some research and drive carefully until I can get it sorted. Thanks for your input and I'll let you know what I find...
  4. It's your tubes. The O rings get old and start to leak. Just replace all of them while you are doing your plugs. It's an eassy DIY. You can buy the new O rings or new tubes and O rings. I would suggest just getting everything new. The parts are very inexpensive. Call up Sunset to order for the best price. You will need the special "Porsche Grease" as well. Here is an awesome DIY from "Pedro'sGarage" http://www.pedrosgarage.com/Site%203/Chang...26%20Tubes.html Success!!
  5. These appear to be the springs I have... http://forcedfed.com/porsche/springs/h&r.html Not really in a position to spend a grand on shocks at the moment. If I do have thse springs I wonder what my options are as far a dampners?
  6. Thanks Bruce. I was looking at the suspension and it appears that just the springs were changed (previous owner) and the shocks look stock. That is probably why the ride is so bad. I'm thinking about changing out the shocks but I will have to do some research on what the best choice would be (based on the springs I have.) I'll put the proper pressure in the tires and see how it feels Thanks for everyones input on this.
  7. Here is what the 997 manual says for tire pressures. Thanks Anderson :D Tire pressures for cold tires Summer and snow tires 911 Carrera, 911 Carrera S 18 inch wheels front 36 psi (2.5 bar) rear 44 psi (3.0 bar) 19 inch wheels, partially loaded (up to 2 persons without luggage) front 33 psi (2.3 bar) rear 39 psi (2.7 bar) 19 inch wheels, fully loaded (as of 2 persons with luggage) front 36 psi (2.5 bar) rear 44 psi (3.0 bar
  8. Thanks for the replys. I will look at the 997 OM. And I had my wheels balanced and I do Have a slight bend in one of the front wheels. Will be getting that fixed asap. Thanks again!
  9. You shouldn't have any problems. Just make sure you have the right tools and be careful not to scratch your new console. :cursing: If you do a search here you will find lots of threads on removing the console. Usually when installing the Short shifter. You may be able to pick up some more tips from people that have already done it. Success!
  10. But that would be for OEM tires correct? I think if I had 44 lbs in the rears it would jar my teeth loose :o These are very low profile tires. I don't see how you would apply the factory reco's to these. Or am I wrong? Thanks for your input
  11. Porsche has touch up paint. Make sure you get the exact match or it will look much worse than when you started. If you know anyone at a body shop you may want to talk to them about tips in order to get the best result. Success
  12. Mobil says it is okay to mix on their website. Whether Porsche says it's okay I don't know :P
  13. I have 19's on my car with Dunlop SP Sport 9000 tires. I checked the tire pressure the other day and I have around 25 psi on all four corners. This seemed quite low to me. How do I determine what is a correct pressure? The car is lowered with H & R springs and the ride is quite rough. Any input is appreciated. Thanks !
  14. Here you go. :D These are instructions on installing the B & M short shift kit. But it describes how to remove your center console. Short_shift_kit_install.pdf
  15. What a freakin disaster. Just when you had it perfect  I'm sorry for you loss but glad the insurance covered you. Good luck with your new ride :D
  16. That's a great deal. Please post pics soon :D
  17. Sergiu, I don't have the wiring diagram because Roock wont disclose his method. I'm very interested to see how your piggyback solution works with your new software programmer. On the surface it sounds great. It may be somthing I would consider if you have success with it. Please keep us posted. I'm anxious to hear how you get on. Sorry I can't be of more help. Phillip
  18. I absolutely agree with Todd. I have the Roock 3.4 to 3.6 conversion and it is a compromise. Although the Vario Cam 'Bump" at 3k rpm is better than it was it will never be a smooth as a factory set-up. As light as the Boxster is be ready for it to be a handful when that power kicks in at 3k. :drive: I don't mind it but some people would hate it. It's like a nitrous shot at 3k rpm. I'm doing some re mapping of the power band to make it more drivable but it will never be as civilized as stock. I guess it depends on what your needs and expectations are. A tech is going to work on the car one more time this month and I will of course post the results. Good luck with whatever route you decide to pursue. :D
  19. Good luck I hope that cures the problem
  20. Do you have white smoke on start up or at high RPM's going around corners? Check your throttle body (around the butterfly) for any oil. These symptoms as well as the extreme suction with your oil cap are all definite signs of a bad AOS(oil seperator.) Do a search (AOS) here and you will find a lot of good info
  21. Yikes ! I can only imagine what Porsche would want for a core charge :cursing:
  22. Agreed. But it will be the last time I change it while I own the car. Maybe I should get it from the dealer at twice the price and have them do the service as well. :o Maybe they will cut me a deal and only charge me $750.00    Not a chance in H**L that will happen
  23. I can only speak from personal experience but I have yet to hear of a Reman failing. Although Jake Raby (LN Engineering) says he has business from reman engines failing.
  24. You mean with the Duremetric I could set the fans to come on full time?
