  1. Nobody?? I know there are some good electronics guys out there??
  2. I had that chirp sound on my old 996. The guys at the dealer told me I needed a new engine :o . Thanks to a thread here it turns out it was a loose spark plug. Needless to say I went back to the dealer and told them the solution :P Also needless to say I would never even take my lawnmower to them.. Hope you find the cause
  3. OUCH! That had to sting a little... :o
  4. I want to do the high speed fan hack to my 996. It's very hot where I live and I feel my engine could benefit from some relief while sitting in traffic. What kind of switch would be appropriate? Can anyone show me what they have used? Thanks!!
  5. As you can see Jose this is not going over to well.........
  6. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  7. A bad AOS tends to produce huge clouds of white smoke not black. Kind of like "007 getting away from bad guys" amount of smoke..
  8. What would be the point of doing that? Not even Lambo's have doors like that anymore. It looks tacky and does not fit on a Porsche (in my opinion.) Like the others said spend that money on handling, performance or interior mods. But again it's your car. Just expect to get flamed from the P car community.
  9. Can someone please give me the proper torque setting for the flywheel bolts on my 2000 C2 996? Thanks
  10. That's a good price. Check it out and if good get the warranty and you will be a happy camper :D
  11. Great tip!
  12. 355, Your engine probably likes being driven like that more! Seems like the one's that are babied have more problems. Do you still have a warranty? You can probably get one (if you don't) for the piece of mind. Having lost my engine last year  I will never buy another Porsche without a warranty.
  13. :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P That's mister internet freak to you... :D
  14. An educated Porsche buyer knows that the 05's are problematic. If I were interested in your car I would buy it at a premium over another 05 with the original engine. Let us know when you get it back. You shouldn't have any more problems.
  15. Benjamin, Are you saying that if you got curb rash on your wheel(s) you would replace them???????? I can understand if they are bent but not scraped. As long as the damage is superficial some sanding, new paint and clear coat will not effect the integrity of the wheel.
  16. Thanks for clarifying Maurice. Seems very sad that out of all the luxury sports cars that Porsche is the only one plauged with "engine failure"in a stock engine. Seems rediculous and I'm really supreised I haven't seen a TV commercial that states "Have you or loved one had a M96 engine explode out of warranty? "Are you aware that Porsche knew about these design flaws for years and did nothing about them? If you or a loved one have a M96 that blew up for no apparent reason you may have rights to compensation." :D  :D
  17. To my knowledge all 2006 + engines had the new design. Am I incorrect?
  18. Perhaps you can have your current rims repaired (they are very sweet) instead of replacing them...If it's just curb rash and paint that is an easy fix for a competent wheel repairer. Unless you just want new rims.....
  19. Excellent. Pictures please!!! :clapping:
  20. Another 05 3.6 dies.. Porsche should be ashamed. Glad you got a new engine! (with all the fixes that should have been there in the first place.) This should actually make your re sale value increase.
