  1. agreed.. Leave it alone. Do a search here and decide for yourself
  2. I went to the dealer and listened to another system identical to mine. It's exactly the same. really dissapointing. My last Porsche had a Kenwood system with a huge amp and subwoofer. I guess I'm spoiled by that. I can live with it but I'm suprised they didn't do a better job with this. Maybe Germans don't like loud rock music with lots of bass :D
  3. Sounds like you should check the balance of your wheels first. The vibration is much more likely coming a balancing issue on the fronts than the brakes. Sounds like your dealer just wants to make some cash on you (gee what a shock for a dealer..)
  4. Going to go visit my friend at my Dealer and listen to one in the showroom with the same system. I hope something is wrong with it. It just doesn't sound right. It's not horrible...Just not great like it should be. Cheers
  5. Excellent... :clapping:
  6. Marc, If you post a picture of your engine bay perhaps one of us can identify the right connector.
  7. Congratulations! She is a beauty.. Enjoy :drive:
  8. I think this saved me over $1,000 from the dealership! :) Sweet! Good job. :clapping: I'm going to do mine in my 997 next week..
  9. White987S, I have had the car for 2 months and it's still under warranty. Interesting.. I highly doubt that there is a speaker or amp broken. I guess I just don't like the way it sounds. I will take your advice and go to the dealer this weekend and listen to a similar sound system and see if it is the same. Thanks!
  10. Sorry to hear you had to dish out that much cash but happy to hear you got her back! :drive:

  12. What the heck is "Sea Foam'? Please disregard. I found it. I know it's not "Porsche approved" for whatever that is worth...
  13. I have the "highest end" Bose stereo package on my 06 Carrera. I have to say it's the worst sound system I have ever had in a Porsche. My 99 coupe witha bone stock sound system sounded way better than this one :o It has mid range speakers in back on the sides and behind the seats. The subwoofers are on the doors and a bunch of speakers in the dash.. The manual says "The sub woofer has it's own amplifier" but doesn't say if you can adjust it or where it is. It has no presence and sounds harsh and "tinny". My home computer with two little speakers and a small subwoofer blows this $1800 option away. I have tried every imaginable combination of available settings and it still sounds like crap. Am I missing something? The only thing I can adjust is the Bass, treble, balance, fader and the sensurround (I still haven't figured out WTF that is supposed to do.) Can anyone with the same system shed some light on this? Did Porsche and Bose really fail this miserably with their "High end" sound option? Is there a way to adjust the subwoofer? Any advice? Very confused about this. Thanks!!
  14. How did you find a plug that fit? Trial & error?
  15. Hopefully they can work with you....
  16. Nice job.. Fabspeed and Schnell hate you....
  17. These guys make one. don't know much about it though or how adjustable it is. Scroll down about half way on the page. http://www.mashaw.com/html/product_info.html
  18. When I put 19's on my 2000 996 I found I lost quite a bit of ride quality and handling. The car was much nicer with the 18's. The 19's look cool but it is a trade off. I believe you might want to talk to a good suspension shop to discuss what other things you may want to do to compensate for the increased wheel size. Just my 2 cents..
  19. Going to do some basic maintenance to my new car. I want to change the air filter and pollen filter. The oil filler tube seems difficult to pull away from the air filter housing. I don't want to force it. Is there a trick or technique for this? Is the pollen filter located in the same area as the 996? Is the replacement procedure the same as the 996? Also I need to get the blake fluid changed (warranty requirement.) I don't have a bleeder so I was going to have this done. What is a reasonable charge from an indie for this? Thanks!
  20. :clapping: :jump: :clapping: :king:
  21. Did you do the front and rears? I would only want to do the rears. Thanks Paul!
  22. ...that was fast. I assume that this is a dealer quote? Thanks Loren! Try Sunset of Suncoast
  23. But what size do get? It looks like the H&R site recommends 7mm. Is that right? I'm strictly doing this for aesthetics. Not for speed or handling. Anyone know the correct size for the 997? Thanks
