  1. good evening to all this is an update to the problem that occured as per the above information. The Porsche dealership and Porsche North America took over 2 1/2 years dragging out this situation before we reached a settlement in my favor. Happy motoring Take care Excellent!!!!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  2. I'm so sorry that happened to your car.. I saw a picture last year of a brand new GT3 that was parked in the owners driveway. Someone had lit it on fire and burnt it and his Benz next to it to the ground. A lot of idiots out there....
  3. I would get in touch with Porsche and report the dealer. That is unacceptable  Report the name of the service manager at the dealership. Man that makes me crazy. 300 miles? Where do you live? I recently took my car in for some warranty work at my dealer and they tried to tell me that my RMS needed to be replaced. I had recently been under the car and knew it was not leaking. I told the service manager that I was on my way over and wanted the tech to show me the leak. When I got there the manager said there had been a "mistake" and my seal actually wasn't leaking...... They prey on the ignorant... I hope you can nail those jerks...
  4. Go to an indie or another dealer and get a second opinion.. Although possible it sounds like your dealer is doing what dealers do...
  5. You'd better post pics soon....The members here get really angry  when they don't get their pictures :jump:
  6. If the IMS bearing failed it would have given you no warning before failing (overeheating etc>) I hope you are able to save the engine without a complete rebuild. They will be able to tell if it was an IMS without a complete engine teardown. The IMS flange is exposed once you remove the clutch and flywheel. You will only know the damage once you pull it apart. By the way 135k on one of these engines is pretty good if that is any concellation. Good luck and keep us posted
  7. :welcome:
  8. You should get plenty of responses on this one..... I'm sorry to hear what happened to your engine
  9. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  10. Also the 06 through 08 engines have the single row IMS bearing (a good thing.)
  11. I have found that a relatively tough phone interview before the potential buyer comes to see the car can be effective. Try to find out how much he knows about Porsches. What he is looking for... Does he know anything at all about the cars? If not be wary.. I have prevented a lot of clowns from wasting my time by asking lost of questions. You will be able to tell right away if the person is a true Porsche nut. You will also be able to tell if it's an idiot that wants to test drive it and give you a rediculous "low ball" offer. Make sure you know what you want for the car and make it clear that you are not interested in taking less.. The other advice is good as far as the insurance, one person in the car etc... I agree with the other poster that if you have ever had one of your friends show interest in the car to let him know it's for sale... That is the best way... It's true this is a terrible time to be selling a car and a great time to be buying one. I traded in my last car to an independent Porsche dealer.. He was willing to give me more that the official dealer and was a pleasure to deal with. Good to shop around and see what it's worth for a trade in (in case it bec Good luck!!!
  12. Does your oil gauge read normal? (no overfill?)
  13. Laura, Thanks for the info... What shop are you with in OC?
  14. It's a simple bolt on. Go to Fabspeed's website and they have a video of the installation. Super easy
  15. I turned mine on all the time.. Here is the way I did it. Just unplug the brownish/orange connector in the picture. Or you can take off the hose with the red pointer. It's easier to just disconect the plug. I tie wrapped it to an AC hose so it would be secured and made little "condoms" out of the fingers of latex gloves so debris wont get into the connectors. You can try it this way and if you don't like it on all the time you can always plug it back in. I like mine on alll the time. It sounds sooo sweet ;)
  16. I agree,, It would be nice to see Porsche step in.. But Porsche is like our rich mean uncle...He never gives us anything........
  17. Yup... coils, labor, plus a bunch of cabling that melted when the coils went. New rule my friend...Only go to a dealer for warranty work. They are usually at least double what a good indie will charge.... Unless you like to get :censored:
  18. who charged you $1500 for coils? The Dealer?
  19. Man I can't find one single extended warranty company that sounds reputable.. Every single one has a bad rep... Make me wonder if I should even bother spending the money.
  20. Can you post a link for the complaints for Easy Care? I had heard they were a reputable company
