  1. Hard to make that call but for an all season daily driver I would go for the 07 /08 S 997. It a great car and very civilized. In my opinion the 997 is a better car than the 996. Make sure you get one with the Sport Chrono package.. Makes a big difference. Both are easy to work on.. I think you may regret the GT3 as an all season car. It was after all designed to be a race car... Just my 2 cents.....
  2. Great info.. Happy ending.. Excellent!:clapping:
  3. That's tough.. There are a lot of companies that prey on us Porsche folks. You have to do so much research before you buy anything....Ask me how I know..:cursing: Doesn't sound like they will be in business too long.. And now people have been warned..
  4. Francois. Agreed! I would have ended up buying a new one as well. But luckily this one came along. And yes the sound is sooo sweet! Thanks for the reply.. Phillip
  5. Love my Turbo to death but was so unhappy with the exhaust note. I was able to locate a Techart exhaust that came off a lease car. It only had been on the car for a year. They list new for $5k and I was able to get this one for $2500. It's in excellent condition. Had the exhaust installed on Friday. It was quite a bit of work. I watched the tech do most of the job. Not only did he have to remove the bumper cover but also the wheel liners, the airbox, Y pipe and the intercoolers in order to get to the bolts for the exhaust. Glad I didn't try it myself. It took him a little over 2 hours. Probably would have taken me twice that (easily) Wow what a difference.!!. The turbos spool up faster and the throttle response is much better. A noticeable power increase as well. The sound is awesome. :clapping: Now it sounds like it should. At WOT the growl is really quite amazing. Now it's bark is as bad as it's bite lol! I was going to take pictures yesterday but the weather was dismal and now today it's raining. I'll try again when it clears up. If anyone is considering an exhaust upgrade I strongly recemmend the Techart or Tubi. Maybe you can find a used one like I did
  6. Try Sunset Porsche. I'm not sure about shipping to the UK but thay have some of the best prices on Porsche OEM parts. There is a link at the top of the page "Porsche parts at dealer cost". You can also try Suncoast Porsche.
  7. Why do you feel you need an upgrade? The "S" brakes work pretty dam good.. Ingat ka
  8. Perhaps this would would be an option. It's rotors and pads. You didn't say if you had the PCCB's or not.... Even though this is for the GT3 with PCCB's you may want to contact Vivid and see what they have to say.. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/brembo-piece-floating-slotted-front-rotors-pccb-cars-porsche-gt3rs-p-63142.html Hope this helps. Do you track your car?
  9. Although I don't have a GT3 I too have looked at that set-up. I just don't see how that design could prevent your engine sucking up a lot of HOT air rather than cold. There is no way that "heat Shield" can prevent hot air from getting to those filters. They have a similar set up for the 997 Turbo. After talking to quite a few folks I decided to stock with the "sealed" stock intake and just add the BMC filter Just my 2 cents. Hope someone with a GT3 wil chime in on this for you..
  10. Update.. Dan from Vivid has stepped in and made things right with this intake situation. Apparently there was a mis communication with the sales person. Yes there is a re-stocking fee but I was not told how to rectify the situation. Dan from Vivid contacted me and has made good on the return. As much as I think this "re-stocking" fee is wrong the Guys at Vivid are very helpful and knowledgable. Just wanted to let you that they have made things right and I will continue to do business with them . Phillipj
  11. Such a pet peav,,, It;s "advice" not "advise" What is it with posters.. no one take the time to spell anymore?
  12. Use extreme caution when ordering from Vivid...
  13. Thanks Paul.. Do you think they are good for a daily driver as well?
  14. Thinking about these tires for my Turbo. They have good reviews. Does anyone have experience with these Bridgestones? http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE-11&frontTire=335WR9RE11XL&rearTire=03WR9RE11XL&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Porsche&autoYear=2007&autoModel=911%20Turbo&autoModClar=Ceramic%20brakes&autoMake=Porsche&autoYear=2007&autoModel=911%20Turbo&autoModClar=Ceramic%20brakes Thanks !
  15. Awesome... Congrats on the new car!!!You're going to love it. And it actually easier to work on than the Boxster (AOS excluded.) Now your hooked... :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  16. Update .. Got the intake and I'm already returning it. The CF shell was very poor quality and didn't fit properly. It never even made it in the car. You'd think for $1500 bucks it would be perfect.. They (Agency) sell a lot of these so maybe it was just a quality control issue at the factory. Not going to replace it. I'm just going to get the BMC filter and call it good.. Frustrating....
  17. When I got a quote from them I just contacted a local agent and they got me a quote. Why do you think out of state would be cheaper? The price is based on the car and it's mileage and amount of coverage desired. Not where you live....
  18. Another satisfied customer with the Hankooks. I'm going to try them on my Turbo soon. Michelin has been gouging us for a long time on those Pilot Sports
  19. HG, I haven't installed it yet. It's being shipped as we speak. It's a "Agency carbon fiber cold air intake". I got mine from Vivid racing. I have seen them at other places as well but the price is the same... $1,500:  If it was for an Acura it would probably cost $400.. It's adds HP and sound. Yes it does have a nice growl at WOT. Here is the link. http://www.vividraci...bo-p-59684.html You will love your Tubi exhaust... Have you flashed your ECU yet? If you haven't consider doing it. A HUGE increase in power...
  20. Have this new toy coming for the Turbo. It actually seals out the hot air unlike Fabspeed etc... I have a friend who has one and I love the sound and a it does give a slight performance gain. I'm a sucker for Carbon. II will photograph the install and post it on the DIY section. Not too much there for Turbo's.. Should arrive in about a week..
  21. Good luck.. I hope this works out for you. I think we all know about wanting a Porsche since we were 9 years old lol! :clapping:
  22. Do a search here.. Lots of informartion on the M96 engine. Change the oil frequently and drive the hell out of it, You shouldn't have any problems..
  23. No but your garage (and it's contents) are spectacular!:clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  24. Welcome and congrats on the new car!!!..Please post pics soon! :welcome:
