  1. If it makes you feel better I was at my mechanics not too long ago and saw the oil on the shop floor from a failed 996 motor mount. Looked like plain ol oil to me.... They are pretty easy to replace and not too pricey. I think there is a DIY here... Not a big deal and like Loren said with that many miles they needed to replaced anyway..
  2. Natinupe1, The 997-1 Turbo is a completely different car than the C4S (or an S.) If had you have spent anytime behind the wheel of the Turbo you would see how different it is than your C4S. My good friend has a 997 C4s and we go driving and swap cars. Totally different car.. My friend agrees as well. Almost everything about the car feels different. (except it's still a Porsche.) The way you drive the two cars is totally different as well.. 350 normally aspirated HP and 550 turbo are certainly not the same.. Granted my car has been slightly modified but you really can't compare the two. It is certainly not just a "faster C4S".. Just thought I'd comment...
  3. If it does it almost everytime i agree with JFP. AOS failure
  4. Sorry I don't have the part number but they should be easy enough to get with a Google search.
  5. +1 to Loren. Thanks for a great site...:clapping:
  6. It is a Boxster. He fabricated a Lambo body for it. The engine pic should have given it away...
  7. Had same isssue with my 07 Turbo. Just replaced the battery and it starts on second crank. Huge difference. I had an 06 Carrera S and it started right up as well.
  8. Thank you! :clapping:
  9. Good for you! A Kick butt V8 Vette and A Boxster slot car! Got the best of both worlds. That road picture has me drooling.... Thanks for the great pictures!
  10. Had to replace my battery this weekend. It was on my list for preventative maintenance and then it stranded me on Thursday  After test driving the car the boost doesn't seem the same in 3rd and 4th gear. That is.. the car doesn't seem to pull as hard as it did before in those gears.. Is the ECU re learning after disconnecting the battery? I have the GIAC flash and Techart exhaust. Hope everyone had a great Christmas..
  11. Congrats on the new toy! I had a Basalt black S too! You will love it! You got all the right options as well.. Make sure you always drive it with the Sport button on!:clapping:  Sorry for the double post....
  12. Congrats on the new toy! I had a Basalt black S too! You will love it!
  13. Sonnen Porsche in CA --CC Thanks!
  14. Awesome. I'm looking at getting a new one soon as well. Where did you order yours from? Thanks and Merry Christmas!
  15. Thanks Loren! No I don't have one. Didn't think to look for it when I got the car. Merry Christmas!
  16. Can someone help me with a part number? Cars equipped with PCCB's are supposed to come with positioning studs (at least one) that hold the wheel and tire in place when taking it on or off. They screw into the hub like a lug bolt and are about 6 inches long. They are used to prevent you from accidentally chipping the ceramic rotor while positioning the wheel. My tech told me I should order two in case I need to take off a wheel. He said there should be one in my toolkit but there is not. Anyone have the part number? Thanks! Merry Christmas!
  17. Suncoast or Sunset has them for much less.. http://suncoastporsche.com/Order-Porsche-Parts-Sarasota.aspx
  18. That's awesome.. Beautiful car! :clapping: :welcome:
  19. Being a totally illogical male I would say trade up to the new one. I just did that recently with an 06 S Carrera. I had it for 11 months. I loved it. Then I drove a Turbo and had to have it.. Made no sense financially but I didn't care. I have never looked back since I made that trade and the Turbo is a dream... Since you are not totally happy with the Triptronic in the 05 (and you never will be) I say get the new one with the PDK or 6 speed. Make sure you drive a couple of each variant first though... You won't regret it...:clapping: Good luck!
  20. So far I'm very happy with them. I have them broken in now. I went for a spirited drive with one of my friends on one of my favorite twisty roads. We both drove the car. It has great grip and corners well as the Pilots. My buddy is a good driver and has Pilots on his 3.4 Boxster and 07 4S. He liked them as well. They are quiet on the freeway. I don't track my car so I won't have those issues. I recently drove them i the rain and they were very compliant. For how I drive they are a great tire for the money. Plus (If I want something else) they wont last that long anyway,,,,
  21. Wow that is fantastic! My late father would have a giant smile on his face if he saw this. Magnificent work and please share more pictures and technical specs down the road. If you decide to put Turbos on that thing it will be quite the beast! Congrats! :clapping::clapping::clapping:
  22. You should be fine...Enjoy it.. They like to be driven everyday......
