  1. Wow, I was at my dealer dropping off my car for warranty work yesterday. There was a almost new GT2 RS there for service (actually a puntured tire and broken rear rim.) The tech started it up to move it... Oh my what a sound!:clapping: It sounded like a cup car. I wish my 997 TT could sound like that.. Question.. Is the GT2 RS engine completely different from the engine in my 2007 997 TT? Or is it just modified? Is the muffler and exhaust completely different? It must be.. How does it create that sound? It doesn"t sound like any turbo I have ever heard.. Love to hear anyones input on this.. Thanks ! Phillip
  2. Congrats ! That is a beauty! What is HP with your mods? Just my opinion but some Porsche crest center caps would look really nice on those wheels. Enjoy!
  3. Excellent post.. It's so nice to hear someone singing the praises of these cars instead of harping on the IMS, RMS ect.. I had a 99 996 and I absolutely loved that car. I would still have it if I hadn't crashed and destroyed it. :censored: It was incredibly trouble free and a joy to drive.. Looks like you have a very nice specimen there. Love the wheels and the yellow calipers and the color! I agree with the others... When I get in my car after work it always brings a smile to my face.:clapping: Enjoy!
  4. Wouldn't this be a warranty issue on an 09? If there is a manufacturing flaw then Porsche should fix it. I assume the car is still under the original warranty?
  5. I love it.. Can't wait to see on ein person..
  6. Porschephile< I would think there would be. You know that the dealers will gouge when they get their first ones. Maybe $25 to $50k over sticker.. That's what they did on the 2007 GT3's. They tried to do it on the 2010 GT3's but people weren't going for it... New Turbo model will have lots of $ interest...
  7. I Love it!:clapping:
  8. Just make sure that your dealer is okay wit the ECU upgrade if you're under warranty. Dealers are funny. Some are mod friendly and some are not. Enjoy that beauty! :clapping:
  9. I agree with the other posters.. I love the car but not that badging.. It ruins that part of the car. That's an easy fix though. Those are definitely 20"s on the silver example. Guess I will do what I always do.. Buy one in four years for half price. Can't wait to see one in person. I'm sure I will be drooling..
  10. Change nothing on the outside... Just some little tweaks to the ECU and the exhaust. Makes a BIG difference in performance. My car wants to do a wheelie in first and second gear :clapping: . Makes me smile..... Take care my friend...
  11. Porschephile.me, Yes they are Fabspeed tips. The are a very good product and fit perfectly. If I had to do it over again I would get the "black chrome".version. Easier to keep clean. The chrome (polished) ones that I have tend to get dirty really quickly from the condensation at start up. I clean them everyday...But I'm rather obsessive  .. Take care!
  12. And why not? A few simple mods to the 997TT makes it come alive.. I would never take off my mods... Mine looks completely stock except for the exhaust tips. I love my Turbo  .
  13. Enjoy that new beast.. We all love ours just like you do.. It's an amazing machine. Post pics when you can.
  14. All day to four hours.. That's awesome.. :clapping:
  15. Yes the tips are completely different. That is apparently the Porsche standard for the PSE now. Enjoy that car ... It's a beauty :clapping:... I freakin love white Porsches! :drive:
  16. Logray, Wow I'm sorry you had to pull the engine again! You must be getting quite good at it by now! How fast Were you able to get it out? No, there is no need to send me that grease back. I'm sure there will come a time when another member is in need and you can send it off to him or her. Great to hear that your car is running strong. Good job and I'm still so impressed that you tackled that project with no experience! All the best..
  17. Sounds awesome... :clapping: Pictures please ! :welcome:
  18. Thanks Logray. Great info. It would be nice if Porsche would have used the updated bearing in ALL the 05"s. They knew there was a problem and just waited til they HAD to do something about it. How is your car running? Did you get any clarity on the Loctite issue you had from the rebuild?
  19. Be cautious with "Agency Power" products.. They began their business on WRX Subarus and then saw the opportunity with the lucrative Porsche market. I find their fitment and quality to be poor. And their customer service is non exisistent.. I would go with another brand. Here are the hoses from Evoms. A much better company IMHO..... http://www.amsperfor...t-hose-kit.html
  20. To be completely accurate only SOME of the 05's got the upgraded bearing. Most did not. That is why Porsche "goodwills" enngine replacements on a lot of 05's that are out of warranty. They know there was a major problem with the early 05's. All 06 to 09 997's had the upgraded bearing.
  21. Can you post a picture? This is what the Sport exhaust tips looked like on my 2006 S.
