  1. B) I have a 99 carrera 4 I use the manuel shift with the tiptronic all the time. A few times I was down shifting from a high speed and hit first gear at 40 or so when I went to take off in 1st gear I got a little bit of slip and it tried to shift into 2nd gear. I let off till it hit back in gear and all was fine I was able to up shift and down shift with no slip most all the time. I was getting a open sensor code 7040 then I cleared it and it did not come back telling me I have a open sensor? Any Idea on what to check so I do not damage this trans>>? Dan
  2. Just pop open your hood remove the battery cover and just to the left of the battery is your cabin air filter. You can just pull it out of its space and replace with a new one. Dan
  3. It is best to take the drivers side tire off to see better. Then with the car jacked up you can see alot more where you need to be. Their is a clip on the top of the connector you can push it down at the rear of the connedtor. This is not to easy but it can be done. After you realse the clip and unplug the connector you will have a C clip holding the 2nd part of the sensor cable that one you can work a screwdriver under and gently pry it up and out just do not use to much force. Now look for the sensor follow the wire and you will see it at the location of the flywheel it will have one hex bolt you will need a long one to make it easy to undo or a hex socket with long ext. After that is bolt is out it will come out just reach back and wiggle it abit it will come out. That is all you need to do..Daniel
  4. Got it un pluged and out of the clamp... Now I need to see if I can see the other end of the wire for the sensor.Any idea on how to get to that one?? Daniel :censored:
  5. Just ordered my Crankshaft position sensor now I have to wait to drive the car... :soapbox: Yes the manuel spoiler switch works just fine and it will sometimes go back down just not up... Thanks Daniel
  6. I have a Carrera 4 1999 it runs just fine 65k on motor. The issue that I have is after I stop driving the car take a short trip or long trip. I come back out to start the care and it will not start. It runs around 200 deg F the car is black so after stoping the car I do have a lot of heat at the motor as it cools off. I can not tell if my blower is comming on in the motor compartment. I have also checked all the realys they seam to be ok. I also have noticed that my air spoiler is not going up at 75 mph. This could be a computer code error?? So what I have found out is when this no start comes up for me I have to un hook the battery then hook it back up to clear the computer. But this is not a fix for me.. Any one have a Idea on what to check or do I need to set codes ??? Thanks for any help... Daniel Sorenson
