  1. The ignition switch is the first thing I would test.
  2. Yes. It could cause a intermittent poor idle.
  3. Yes the replacement switch repaired the problems and others faults to this date.
  4. You really need to find a competent technician who is familiar with these vehicles.. How would a leaking torque convertor seal cause the engine to run so poorly??
  5. I never recommend belt dressing on any type. It make a huge mess and is a short term fix at best. My opinion is that if the belt is making a noise, find out why. Don't try to fix it with "backyard mechanic in a can".
  6. Trying to lube the bushing is only a short term fix and as RFM stated it's best to replace the unit or have it rebuilt correctly.
  7. Also check the vacuum piping after the secondary air control solenoid. It can easily break and the vacuum leak will only be present when the ECU demands the secondary air to be activated. It's located under the intake runner in the same area of the AOS so it might have been damaged during replacement.
  8. Can you communicate with all others modules? Any modifications done to the vehicle?
  9. The drive shaft is of a two piece design supported in the centre by a brng in a rubber carrier. The rubber brng support will have visible cracks or torn away completely from it's metal outer housing. This is the most common type of failure with this unit.
  10. We don't have a back up batteries for the alarms over here but I seem to remember reading that the battery was part of the alarm siren.
  11. First thing to check is the centre brng in the rear drive shaft, also called a carden shaft. Then inspect that aftermarket exhaust system to make sure it's not hitting or come adrift.
  12. Just received his email reply and he does have a hitch but it's not wired as the trailer he pulls is only a small one that isn't for road use. He just hauls rubbish and such with it on his acreage. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.
  13. Sorry I don't have the answers for your questions but I know my friend has a hitch on his 05 so I'll ask him what needed to be done.
  14. That doesn't look like a common connector. I can faintly see some numbers on the left side in your first pic, maybe that is a part number?? If the connector is ok but just the wiring damaged you can easily replace just the leads.
  15. It's very hard to say where the noise is coming from. It is possible to be caused from the brake pads shifting when loaded. I have never come across any problems in this area with the Cayenne so it's best to remove a wheel for inspection.
  16. Is it possible to take it to another mechanic? It sounds as if this fellow has no idea whats going on.
  17. Cayennes self bleed very easily and I've never had a problem with trapped air in the system. Are the cooling fans operating correctly??
  18. Start with the basics and have the battery load tested after it has been correct brought up to charge. I understand that the battery is newer but they still can fail.
  19. If it is a misfire, nine times out of ten you will get a check engine light or a flashing check engine light. It sounds like the mount is at fault or the installation. I am not familiar with that manufacturer of mount.
  20. It looks to me like the leak is above that hose and is dripping down onto the hose.
  21. There is no need to lower the engine, it takes a careful hand and don't get to forceful and the tank will fit in with no problems.
  22. I thought it was powered only with the key in the ignition.
  23. I've replaced a few of the switches over the years. No easy fix that I know of.
  24. Why not just switch the power supply to the decks power? They would then be shut off at the same time.
  25. Has your vehicle been modified? Why does it not have a secondary O2 sensor??
