  1. Are you looking from under the vehicle? The big "S" shaped hose attached with hose clamps goes from the oil cooler tank to the engine. The other hose on that side-attached with compression type fitting/nuts- is also a source of leaks. You should really pressure wash the area and recheck for leaks. There are many sources for these engines to leak that are much more common then the oil lines.
  2. It sits under the electrical box on the drivers side. Unclip the fuse block and lift it slightly out of the way to access the horn.
  3. A/C on should also engage the radiator/condenser fans-check them first. Did you check the serpentine belt tensioner and rollers when you had the belt off for the compressor change?
  4. Try unloading the steering wheel by moving it slightly back and forth. If that doesn't work then I think you must have installed the switch incorrectly.
  5. I use loctite but the threaded area in the axle flange also has to be free of oil/grease. If the bolts are loctited and torqued to the correct spec this fault should never occur.
  6. Main battery is located under left front seat, rear battery is for starting only.
  7. I think he is referring to the ignition coil-spark plug extension. I think it only comes with a new coil.
  8. On acceleration or de-acceleration the differential gears are being loaded differently, excessive noise is not normal and you need to get it inspected by qualified personal.
  9. What rubbers are you referring to? I believe it's a dual mass flywheel which is a one piece unit so nothing to replace except the unit as a whole.
  10. The drive shaft fault makes more of thumping noise. Does the sound change depending if you're accelerating or on overrun? If so I would check the condition of the differentials. When cold the transmission is programmed to hold the shift points higher in the RPM band to reduce the heat up time of the catalytic convertors. Your dealer should be able to verify what updates and or recalls were performed on your vehicle by the VIN number so long as the work was done at a OPC.
  11. It does look to be coming from the mounts but I have never seen that colour or amount of fluid leak from the mounts before. Wash it off and monitor the area to see what returns.
  12. I would bet it's the coolant pipes. Hope warranty covers replacement.
  13. You must be referring to drive cycles or setting readiness codes. I've just never heard it called that before.
  14. Starting fluid can destroy intake manifold or even worse cause a connecting rod to escape from the crankcase. I've seen it happen to many time as folks around these parts have been using it for years until one day when it goes pear shaped and causes extensive engine damage. It's just not worth risking any damage.
  15. BMW Drive Cycle??
  16. I wouldn't recommend using starting fluid of any type. It's not worth the risk of engine damage. Can you check for engine RPM while cranking on the Durametric?
  17. I have not heard of cylinder hard gasket problems on these engines.
  18. I don't know the details but he did receive a letter from the dealer in the US where the car was being sold. I would guess that is the recall letter.
  19. The recirculating door can make a thud when closing, try turning it off and on and see if that is the noise. I've not come across any problems with dash squeaks or rattles so can't help out there. If the tires have even wear patterns I would just get them road forced balanced to clear up the vibration problem. Oh.. and welcome to the forum.
  20. Wish I could be of help but I've not come across anything like this yet. The only thing I could suggest is having the system checked for codes. Is there any change if the vehicle is hot or cold?
  21. Welcome to the forum. First thing to inspect is the driveshaft (carden shaft) centre brng.
  22. He's asking about changing the heat range of the spark plugs. Why would anyone alter from the factory rating?
  23. I rather liked the flat blue. I've not seen it done that way before and think it's rather unique.
  24. The oil cooler thermostat seal is also a common source of leaks. It's located on the top, right side of the engine case.
  25. You need to clean both the throttle valve and idle speed motor. The DME tries to control idle speed first by ignition timing then idle speed motor dwell.
