  1. To my knowledge only someone with the Porsche system tester can program the keys. New and old keys must be programmed at the same time
  2. Clean the throttle bodies and should clear things up.
  3. I can see their point and it makes sense to me. Keep your papers in order and be sure look both ways when crossing the street. Easy.
  4. Remove the alt and have it rebuilt. Be sure to inspect the pulley that it does free-wheel and is not seized or slipping if yours is of that type.
  5. I'll put my money on the starter drive.
  6. Have the vehicle inspected again to determine the source of the leak. Altitude should not have any impact on the oil leak.
  7. Just a quick word of warning, never open the cooling system if the engine is hot. It is under a lot of pressure and you could get some serious burns. As recommended I would return to the dealer and get them to correct the levels.
  8. Key on engine off if you ground the signal wires at the sensor the gauge should sweep fully and illuminate the warning light. If not then the fault is within the gauge, maybe someone had the pointer off for whatever reason and now it's out of wack.
  9. I also replaced the brngs. Dead easy to do saved a ton of money.
  10. It's best to have the vehicle running or a battery charger in use when accessing faults on the Cayenne, they are very sensitive to voltage drops and can cause false codes as the vehicle has very high parasitic draws. Also recommended to have your laptop connected to the AC adaptor. You first need to access every control module your Cayenne has and clear all the fault codes. Do this after you have performed the CAN reset. Drive the vehicle for a few miles then re-scan all module for fault codes. See if this clears up any faults and report back to us. I think you have a connection problem in the instrument cluster that will require more investigation.
  11. I believe the factory brng is of Japanese origin. Recommend upgrading to the LN type of brng as suggested.
  12. With a cold engine and 2500 RPM does the gauge read 5 bar? It could be a calibration fault in the gauge itself. Key on,engine off what does the gauge read?
  13. Normal, nothing to worry about. All the ones I have seen flash green and only on the one side.
  14. Welcome. The horns are located on the right side of the vehicle under the front bumper cover. Replace them in a set as the factory units are of poor quality.
  15. Wouldn't be the first time I have seen one of these belts installed wrong. I'll try and post a diagram of the belt when I return to work.
  16. Might consider replacing the spark plugs at the same time as they can be damaged from a misfiring coil.
  17. Conti belts are one the best you can buy unlike the Dayco or Goodyear belts. I would think that you incorrectly installed the belt and don't have it routed correctly.
  18. Check the operation of the distributor and that both rotors are turning.
  19. Recommended to change engine oil before storage to remove contaminates and acids that form as a by product of combustion. Also run the engine to circulate the fuel stabilizer through the system.
  20. You need to get the codes accessed for the top. There are many reasons for the top acting up and if a limit isn't reached in a said amount of time the top will stop moving. One thing to check is that the clam shell is moving the same distance side to side. The rack mechanism that operates the clam shell can break teeth and cause it to go out of time by as little as 2mm and cause the top to time out.
  21. I have not come across an issue with these differentials. Message member RFM as he has a lot of knowledge on the Cayenne.
  22. By-pass the clutch safety switch to eliminate it as a fault. The ingition switch is also a source of many problems and has been updated several times over the years.
  23. You need to access all the modules, record any fault codes and clear them all. That should reset the systems. You'll then need to rescan the modules and address any codes you find at that time. Durametric is highly recommended.
  24. Yes that is a VW part number. Any codes in the system and could your mechanic communicate with the control module?
  25. Are you positive that it's the front diff and not a wheel brng or tire noise?
