  1. Glad you're getting it covered. About your questions- Two piece driveshafts have a centre brng and carrier that can be replaced separately without replacing the complete driveshaft. Cayennes and Touaregs have a two piece shaft but when I tried to get a failed shaft rebuilt I was told it couldn't be done.
  2. The only repair that I'm aware of replacement. Get it sorted as the fluid is very hard on paint/rubber/plastics.
  3. There is a plastic coolant manifold on the V6 that houses the thermostat and a few sensor connecting to a plastic pipe that runs to the water pump housing in the engine block that can fail. Good thing is that the parts are cheap but it's not the nicest job to replace those units.
  4. It's an easy, one man DIY. There is no one that can replace the centre brng last time I looked into it which was about a year ago.
  5. Values seem ok to me.
  6. I know people here that drive them everyday through all seasons. We get extreme cold (-40C) and massive amounts of snow and the cars seem to handle it well. They are using dedicated winter tires.
  7. I don't remove the latch just soak it with WD-40 and use compressed air to remove and excess and debris that might be gumming up the switch. I've only had this work a few time and often need to replace the latch assembly.
  8. Inspect the O-ring seals in the fuel line coupler.
  9. Glad you got it sorted. Please post pics and part number if you have them. I for one would like to know what got replaced.
  10. I am not familiar with the entry and drive system but do know that some systems need to initialized after battery replacement and all fault codes cleared. Perhaps it's something as simple as that needing to be done.
  11. Marketing scam to get more money out of your pocket. Don't fall for it.
  12. There is a micro switch located in the latch that causes this problem. They do sometimes stick and can be cleaned with WD-40 and compressed air. I would resist the urge to lubricate them with any type of grease or oil as it often attracts dirt which aggravates the problem. The latch must be replaced as an assembly. The dealer can test the switch to see which one is at fault.
  13. Screen wash is screen wash, use the cheap stuff.
  14. Cayenne wheel brngs are reliable over all and I've never had a brng make a squealing noise or lesson when applying the brakes but more of a hum or drone type of noise that changes with loading. I would have the brakes inspected again.
  15. This has been covered many, many times. I recommend following the owners manual unless you drive in a extreme environment. I consider everything extreme except steady highway miles.
  16. There was a TSB for a faulty battery cable from the alternator to battery that caused odd charging system issues. Have a dealer check your VIN number to see if your vehicle has been done.
  17. Never assume they checked all the mounts. The drive shaft can still be at fault even though the centre brng assembly hasn't failed. A seized or binding joint in the driveshaft can cause issues or impact from road debris can cause an imbalance.
  18. According to my pictures it shows the O2 sensors with the black connectors as being the primary sensors. So the ones before the cats.
  19. It could have been a lean condition or ignition timing fault that cause the backfire into the intake system. I would first contact the company that altered your ECU programming. Is that the recommended octane rating for your engine?
  20. Check to see if it's coming from the fuel tank vent valve. Listen carefully near the gas cap.
  21. I have those parts as well and can take pics of them if someone needs an ID. The shop replaced the vent/breather pipe as well as the plastic water pipes. Tim Please post pics as it helps other members identify the parts.
  22. You need to remove the door panel and inspect the operating rods.
  23. It could very well be the ABS at fault and there will not be any codes or light. If the ABS sees a wheel speed difference it will activate. This often happens from a damaged sensor, incorrect air gap or damaged sensor ring. The odd time metal filings will accumulate on the sensor due to it having a permanent magnet and change the sensors A/C output signal confusing the ABS unit in thinking the wheel is measuring a different speed. Only a few KPH difference in wheel speed will trigger this effect and not set a code because there is nothing electrically wrong as far as the ABS controller is concerned.
