  1. You can turn on the factory DRL using the Porsche scan tool. If you're wanting to install some Audi look-a-like DRL sorry I can't help.
  2. When these codes appear they are no transmission codes? How many key cycles until the codes return?
  3. Yes and Yes. Just be aware of the increased pedal effort.
  4. Does it advise you apply the brake for cranking? Depending on the start control module coding you might or might not have to apply the brake so I would verify that the brake light switch is operating correctly.
  5. Blackgold autowreckers in Albert has a Cayenne in their yard. They have a website so can contact them that way.
  6. Will the code clear and the system level?
  7. I don't smoke, but I take no pleasure in this chaps misfortune. You sir are an @#*^%! What makes you think I took pleasure in his car catching on fire?
  8. It could be an immobilizer fault. Lock the drivers door with the key, unlock using the key fob and then see if it starts. If the scan tool will not communicate with any module then check all fuses using a test light.
  9. As to the torque convertor seal being damaged, I have not seen it happen yet and have only replaced 4 or 5 coolant pipes in these vehicles. I would also replace the starter or have it rebuilt while it is out.
  10. When the fans do come on are they on high speed? When you have the A/C on, what speeds do the fans operate at?
  11. The rear timing chain cover is not that easy to remove. Inspect the hole and see if any threads are remaining deeper in. The next step is to try a timesert of helicoil thread repair kit.
  12. Is it a automatic or manual gearbox vehicle?
  13. Odds are it's not the gasket leaking but oil wicking up the stud thread. As Berny stated, use sealing product such as Loctite 501 or 518 on the thread. Remove the retaining nuts one at a time, clean the oil off using brake clean, then compressed air to dry the threads, only a small amount of sealant is needed on the stud thread and torque to the correct spec.
  14. Clear the code and only address it as a problem when and if it returns.
  15. I too have seen a Cayenne with the Bose sub over the second battery.
  16. They often break and I've never seen a pin fall out so I wouldn't bother replacing them.
  17. Listen to your gut... if you have concerns about it's history then stay far away. There should be enough good sound examples out there to choose from.
  18. Will any of the codes clear? With the car running, turn the steering wheel left and then right past 45 degrees, straighten the wheel and drive a few meters ahead in a straight line to see if that calibrates the steering angle sensor.
  19. Even though you are hearing the sound from the right front I would think you have a problems with the centre brng in the carden shaft. I have heard a very similar noise shortly before the shaft failed.
  20. Check for vacuum at the modulator valve with the engine running. Interesting that you don't want to drive the 20 miles to have a professional transmission garage look at it but drive the clappers off it.
  21. CTTinTO I can't see your photo and please provide the part number for the piece. Do you happen to know if the part has been updated to a newer version?
  22. I agree with the coolant pipes as the probable fault. It has been covered here many times and I would recommend having someone familiar with these vehicle work on them.
  23. Disconnect the top mechanizm from the drive and operate it manually to be sure it's not binding anywhere.
  24. Interesting that you have oil pressure problems combined with misfire codes. I would inspect the timing chain adjusters for that bank of cylinders. Is the check engine light flashing? I wouldn't risk running the engine until I was sure there isn't a mechanical fault.
  25. The climate control opening should be of the standard DIN size.
